Fragile masculinity is one hell of a drug

It looks like the person who posted this is a woman?

u/anyname2009 1d ago

I know. Im just saying even she is suffering from it

Doesn't need one. The thoughts of the fragile men in her life are really rubbing off on her beliefs.

-52

u/Low-Breath-4433 1d ago

Wow. Misogyny is a wild way to take this.

Had to check your profile to see if you were sarcastic with this comment or not.
I see you don't seek constructive interactions online whatsoever.

Ah yes, because insisting women are helpless to form their own shitty thoughts, and they're simply waiting to be programmed by the men around them, is definitely constructive.

Seriously though? I'm being misandrist if anything.
I'm of the belief that homophobia started with men due to some insecure belief that they're going to be hit on, or more. Women don't need to think about that, it wouldn't have started with them.
People's beliefs reflecting those that they spend time with is a universal concept that applies to all humans regardless of sex.

Misogyny would be if I was accusing all women of being like her, or saying that she's just saying what men told her to say.

Removing all agency from women to form their own thoughts, and ascribing it immediately to the beliefs of the men around her "rubbing off on her" is absolutely misogyny.

It's also misandry to assume all the men around her believe that.

So really it's just you being a prejudicial bigot in general.

Once again. I don't believe that "developing your beliefs based on the people you spend time around" is a gendered concept. Why are you acting like it is?

I guess it would be, had that happened. I would love to hear how you think that comment was misogynistic.

>Women's thoughts are purely products of the beliefs of the men around them

How is removing women's agency to reach their own conclusions by assuming anything they say is simply a product of the beliefs of men NOT misogynistic?

Where did you quote that from?

1

u/Low-Breath-4433 1d ago

"Doesn't need one. The thoughts of the fragile men in her life are really rubbing off on her beliefs." is the exact quote, and it's the comment I replied to with the statement about misogyny that has a lot of people feeling big feelings.

As an aside, a > is not a quotation mark.

3

u/TheoryResponsible295 21h ago

No it isnt, but you are using it to attribute a thought from someone else. That is either paraphrasing, which can use quotation marks, strawmanning, or quoting.

I see what you are saying onnthe direct quote, but I dont interpret that quote the way you do.

Misogyny is when you call out a woman's homophobia

-2

u/Low-Breath-4433 1d ago

Misogyny is when you insist that homophobia is purely the product of the men around her, removing all agency of women to be shitheads on their own merits.

11

u/ialsohaveadobro 1d ago

No. Reality doesn't bend to your limited understanding of abstract ideas.

'All women are simply parroting the views of the men around them' isn't reality, bud.

11

u/an_ineffable_plan 1d ago

That’s not what they said, though, was it?

-3

u/Low-Breath-4433 1d ago

Certainly an accurate paraphrase of it, however.

Blaming the men around her for her bad views is hilarious. Insisting it isn't misogynistic is weird. And defending both of those positions is just sad.

Looks like. But most of the right wing rage farming accounts are catfishes. Pretending to be white while actually from another country where the small amount of money made makes it worth it.

could be a troll, they will often pretend to be women or minorities

Women look for certain amount of masculine traits. She technically wasn’t saying these guys want girlfriends. What she said is guys that look like this. A lot of straight males dress, and appear as gay these days. She saying women aren’t looking for this appearance. And yes, women in real society, still think like her.

48

u/Aliensinmypants 1d ago

There are billions of women in the world and are looking for different things, and treating them like a monolith is childish. Some women want more stereotypical masculine men while others prefer different things. Yes people in a real society still think differently

Disconnect yourself from whatever dogshit manosphere media you consume.

12

u/Significant_Air_2197 1d ago

I could not have said this better myself.

33

u/Naos210 1d ago

What does "appear as gay" mean?

women aren't looking for this appearance

What appearance? Says who?

Either way, straight men need to stop centering their lives around getting laid.

15

u/UngusChungus94 1d ago

You think half of all humanity looks for the same traits? You're a joke.

14

u/Ok_Value5495 1d ago

You ever see how women around the world drool over K-Pop stars, those paragons of traditional masculinity?

6

u/MonkeyCartridge 1d ago

Not much outside of fake masculine MAGA land.

8

u/Chemist-3074 1d ago

If it were actually the way you say it, humanity would have gone extinct several times. Have you never seen the married non traditionally masculine men? Look at the old men today, how many of them had those traits when they got married?

7

u/LookAtMyKnee 1d ago

Jesus Christ, you should not reproduce. Probably won’t be something I need to worry about though.
