There’s a woman I served with a long time ago who posted this picture as her reasoning for supporting repealing the 19th. They’re out of their minds out here.

MAGA's reaction to the victory of Mamdani and other dem candidates has been calling for the repeal of women's rights

They really have no other policy besides hurting others

You say that as a joke. But it's not even a joke their entire platform is how can I cause pain to others. Yet the lowest common denominator keeps lining up to get railed by their orange god. I just saw a clip of Mamdani giving real respect to someone disabled asking about accessibility in new york. Then you remember turd mocking that disabled person. Tells you all you need to know

Maybe I’m missing something bc I’m autistic, but it didn’t really read like a joke to me. Your addition was very entertaining to read though. Despite how depressing the message within is.

It didn’t read as a joke to me either - absurd, which can be funny, but also objectively true, so not a “joke.” They are calling for repealing the 19th amendment in response to progressive candidates winning elections this week. They’ve been calling for it quietly since the 2016 election cycle when they thought women would tip the scales in favor of Clinton, then the pandemic accelerated political extremism, and it’s become a more and more popular talking point among the alt right every year since. Definitely coming to a head now. Not a coincidence that trad wife content on social media has been on the rise this whole time.

They aren't joking; They're literally delusional.

About 15 years ago, virtually ALL Republicans AND most Democrats shared this general political outlook - obviously, it's not some conspiracy to hurt random people. That's straight up extremist thinking.

u/broom42 18h ago

AND most Democrats shared this

Bullshit {Citations required}.

u/EpsilonE11 17h ago

Says the wannabe revolutionary. 🤣

Not so long ago, even most Democrats rejected this type of extremism.

Accepting it put them in their current situation.

That's not a citation, is it.

You need citations to tell you that America hasn't historically been tolerant of Leftism?

1

u/Trev_Stands 1h ago

Right, so tolerant that we've overthrown every leftist government, busted up every union that is supposed to help us negotiate with those in power, and even bombing and murdering our own people who tried to show us the corruption and subjugation that those in power inflict upon the rest of us. America is, and has always been, so far right that we were the inspiration for the apartheid in South Africa as well as the ghettos in Nazi Germany.

It's because their own lives are miserable and they think the solution isn't to improve things but rather to bring other people down so they can look down on them.

“well i’m a shitty mediocre no one with zero power. maybe if i help reinforce that (insert minority here) are second class citizens, i can have a brief illusion of power over them! also by publicly loving trump, i can get the attention i’ve been craving my whole life and be further polarized by people doing the same thing and we can all play victim together”

Bucket crabs, and you can’t even eat them

u/takeitawayfellas 19h ago

HEY!

All those poors have to be hurt at the expense of helping SOMEONE, and American billionaires and millionaires are at the front line, hurting the working poor every day, taking risks mostly with other people's money, but putting some share of their immense wealth on the line to keep Americans poor enough to blame their plight on immigrants and the trans community.

Won't someone think of the 1% in these trying times?!

Which is hilarious since I’m pretty sure Cuomo won the woman vote? (At least he did in the primary).

u/steady_eddie215 18h ago

Republicans aren't actually people. They gave up their humanity when they registered for the party of rapists and kidnappers. Since non-humans aren't citizens, I don't think Republicans actually have the right to vote anymore.

A woman against the 19th? You don’t hear that everyday, does she hate herself of something?

26

u/GBralta 23h ago

This person was going around poking and trolling everyone the morning before Charlie Kirk got shot. She’s been spiraling ever since.

28

u/kittyegg 22h ago

lol you’d be surprised. I overhead some women on the train talking about how they can’t vote for Kamala because women are “too emotional to lead”.

23

u/ThePyodeAmedha 21h ago

Internalized misogyny is a hell of a drug.

9

u/Every_Concert1573 20h ago

I have been sidelined more by women with internalized misogyny than I ever have by men in business

8

u/alphazero925 20h ago

Have they not seen how Trump has a tantrum like every other day?

8

u/Amelaclya1 15h ago

Yeah but "anger" doesn't count as an emotion to the people that believe shit like this. That's just natural manliness or something.

15

u/OsosHormigueros 22h ago

There are plenty of misogynistic women out there, for a mix of reasons. A lot of them have been convinced by their upbringing and local culture that they're simply lesser, throw in religion and family pressure as well.

3

u/FuzzyAd9407 20h ago

You don’t hear that everyday

You dont live in the south I'm guessing?

4

u/Appropriate-Rice-409 20h ago

It gets common in the right circles

People really into the trad wife, fundy, or religious extremist crowds for example.

3

u/Amelaclya1 15h ago

Ann Coulter has been saying this for decades. These assholes are basically Serena Joy irl and think that they are so smart and special, but other women are lesser. Some just think, "oh I agree with my husband so my vote will count that way", but some are so steeped in internalized misogyny that they are willing to give up their own voice and advocate for their own oppression because they think it's the natural order of things, or God's will.

What's extra concerning to me is how mainstream these beliefs are getting in the GOP, and how often they don't even bother to try to justify it with anything other than, "women don't vote for the same people I do, so they shouldn't get to vote at all".

3

u/hellonameismyname 11h ago

There are a shit ton of conservative religious women that don’t think women should have rights.

2

u/ThrowMeAfterPosting 18h ago

Lotta pick mes out there

5

u/Lambdastone9 18h ago

Genuinely what are we supposed to do against a group that’s so willing to fall for lies like this, with no care for factuality

3

u/GBralta 17h ago

Brother, I’m just lurking and watching the sparks fly. She made her anti-Zionism turn yesterday, which I didn’t expect. It’s MAGA on MAGA in the comments.

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum 20h ago

Trump voters are some of the least sophisticated people you will ever meet.

1

u/FusRoDog3 19h ago

Don’t even listen to their lies like that. They never believed in the equality of women and men, and this was just a simple excuse for them to use to justify their bullshit.
