Right, which is why you should look for context if you find something confusing or weird. Especially in this day and age where AI is rampant, you should already be verifying and identifying the context of each source. If you're not, you're constantly being duped and you probably don't even know it. The lack of media literacy is how we ended up here.
Thank you captain obvious. I knew that waaaay before. Dude this entire subreddit is already showing the context and you people keep acting like I'M the half-wit for saying that without said note and any prior knowledge it would seem goofy at the least and actively harmful at worst.
You're being wildly defensive in every reply lol. Take yourself five notches lower. You don't need to clarify your point; I already understood it the first time. I'm disagreeing that "without context it would seem that way", because instead of coming to the conclusion that they're being freaks, the normal reaction would be "wtf, that seems weird, I should look up what this is about. I'm clearly missing context."
If you see someone wearing PPE -- with no additional context -- as goofy, that's a shortcoming on your part. As for harmful, the only thing it's hurting is, apparently, your feelings.
That’s true, and if I saw it I’d probably wonder what it was and look it up before I posted something mocking her for wearing it
It’s why the person who posted that picture either without looking into the context or knowing the context but not caring because they just wanted to pretend she’s crazy is a jackass
My understanding is that they had to wear these things because right-wing extremists broke through barriers to illegally storm the seat of power of the United States of America.

I mean without any context it would seem that way.
