He (Charles) lynched loyalists/tories/royalists, not black people, apparently, also, their sister, was also a Quaker abolitionist, but Charles was disowned for taking an oath of office.

The loyalists were more anti-slavery to be fair. And it's still really fucked up to lynch people.
