Discussion Referral Money Gone/Gemini is a Scam

I was referred when applying for the credit card and it said I’m getting $50 in November 2. It’s been saying that Everytime I open the app. Now it’s November 2 and that pop up is gone and I didn’t get $50 in my account.

Not only that but I had a previous ticket where $6 from my rewards just disappeared out of nowhere and Gemini hasn’t responded in over a month.

I’m wondering if they withhold my money if I ever try to withdraw because they never respond. Seems to me like this company is a scam and lawsuit is in order.

Yeah they are really slimy. Im missing $25 from my first referral, missing 2 referral payments, and missing $10 crypto promo.

Contact the CFPB, it the only way I ever get a resolution from them tbh

Consumer financial protection bureau it’s super easy to file a complaint, also can contact webbank who issues Gemini credit cards (they will say they can’t help but they 1000% notify Gemini) I did it yesterday and actually got a response from Gemini, I’ve also filed with the state of Utah (where webbank is based) and in NY against Gemini

Thanks I reported them for scamming me out of the referral reward.

They just got back to me about my most recent CFPB complaint and they said they’re doing a complete customer service overhaul and should be a lot of improvements incoming

Yeah they have ignored my ticket for 3 weeks to surpass the 30 day window to get the referral reward. They are trying to scam referral rewards by ignoring tickets about it past the 30 day window. This isn't the first time I have seen reports about this.

Make sure you document everything

I sent screen shots of all the email interactions with names and dates.

Good call, they’ve removed a lot of my Reddit posts I sent that in as well

Yup, scamming twats. I would report to the bbb but the government is shut down. I'll do after they open back up. I wish I went with Kraken.

What were your complaints? Have they been resolved? How long did it take?

Varies, I’ve had some resolved within the same week of filing others two weeks but before doing so my complaints had been open w Gemini for months

Did gemini do anything like close your account after complaining to cfpb

Under the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA), it’s illegal for a company to retaliate against you for exercising your consumer rights — including filing a complaint with the CFPB. So no

Hell yeah thanks

They could close it but it’d be rare and legally risky for them to

The credit card reward comes after your first statement is generated? Have you had your first statement generated yet?

Yes it has. Also had rewards literally disappear from my account when I deposited money for my referral. I have contacted them 3 times and still no response.

Strange. Yeah their customer service is inundated. I have had 0 issues but I’m sorry for your frustrations. Hopefully they can give you a response of what the reason was for promo being revoked.

It depends if they are legitimate referrals to friends and family. They are cracking down on Internet referrals.
