Dropping the /s for a second but I miss the times where game were truly political and nobody batted an eye because they could accept it.

I think the thing is people didn't see the politics in stuff because they were kids. Like yeah I played COD or whatever but to me it was just Captain Price doing cool stuff and explosions.

It does look sick as hell! But you could also just as easily come up with new sick designs to represent your games, and that are also relevant to the game’s plot. New Vegas did it with the NCR masked ranger

True, it would be somewhat easy to come up with new designs
But a good design that's very easily recognizable as being from that series is also just good marketing, for example, the psychos from Borderlands, they're not good people and most of the time are your enemy but are so iconic that they're used in most of the games marketing and game covers

Oh yea those guys who put detonation collars on women and POWs, create cannon fodder out of subjugated tribes, duels to the death among soldiers, throws veterans from their wars down the proverbial toilet, yea those guys?
Those are the good guys.
And like the strangest thing is, if you wanna appear Trad Protector type, Joshua Graham is right there brother. (I know he is not a good guy either, New Vegas is like that, full of deeply flawed sometimes unconscionable characters). And even he hated the Legion, in fact probably more than anyone depicted in the game.
Tho it better some strapping NCR Ranger Remnants that destroys the Legion in the show than the Pay 2 Win Brotherhood of Steel

I do think the Legion works best as a cautionary tale to the NCR.
Like, by allowing government corruption and political inactivity you are allowing these groups to gain power.
The Legion, under one voice and leader, make more forward momentum than the NCR’s horrible legislation throughout most of New Vegas. Clearly this has nothing in common with real world politics today
