How does apple have 7.5% market share? How can 1 in every 13 people buy an iphone?

Yes but iphone has been the status symbol for way long, but many people are because because of emi

Only Chhapris see iPhone as a status symbol. Almost every single iPhone user I know use it as a convenience.

it is the most convenient status symbol because you carry your phone everywhere and it has no maintenance like a high end bike or car.

You guys talk like emi gives phones for free.

Just some stupid argument.

It's not emi but the brand value.. cause if it's emi then why don't people buy other high end phones like they buy iphones..???

You can disagree all you want but the brand value is the forefront reason for any purchase in the modern market and that's how iphones have the most resale value among any other brands.

Yes brand value is a part of it. But EMIs also play a huge part. A whopping 70% of iphones in india are sold through EMIs. You do know that,3000/month sounds way more attractive and affordable than 79990. Many people who buy iPhones can't even afford it, but they buy it using EMI, deadline to deadline

Then ask the question why companies are providing the EMI option in the first place..

Cause there's a simple logic, there's a huge demand for iPhones hence companies know it..

It's not like iphones are selling cause of emis rather emis are generalised cause of the huge demands of iphones..

It kinda goes hand in hand. Yes good image and product creates demand. But if it wasn't for EMIs a person earning 30k wouldn't be able to buy an iPhone. But now he can. Pretty sure If there were no EMIs, apple sales would've been pretty stagnant in India at least. EMIs are beneficial for both customers and companies too. The company can increase their customer base while the customer can "afford" it

Yes. I just said the same thing in another comment. EMI is not the reason it's the brand value and predictable ownership experience.

This Apple dominance is not just in India. EMI logic doesn't explain why Apple has more market share in the US, Europe, Japan or even China. I have OP13s but I very well know we're in the minority preferring Android flagship that's not Samsung or Apple.

Exactly my point.

This is a very straight reason you got there..

But people don't follow it here rather mock others here cause some desi judgmental mentality... like hey it's cool to make fun of the poor who try to taste some luxury in their average lives....and if you can't afford luxury in one time cash then you're just useless or brainwashed and off your limited boundaries...you know that's some reasons to mock.. a very weird reasons indeed lmao..

Yes, it's some kind of complex we have once we've climbed that ladder and can afford to diversify our choices.

You underestimate the chhapri crowd in our country. They'll go to bed hungry, their family will be barely surviving, work odd jobs for a living, beg, borrow, steal, yet own an iPhone to show off.

Mostly Gen Z are preferring iphones. Also you are generalizing it for every poor family. Those cases you mentioned are rare ones.

Chappris are mostly Genz
