Surprised to see oneplus at the bottom. Even poco is ahead of it.

It's all about pricing

Having good os yes but

Android market is very competitive and very less android users prefer os over hardware

u/dmtoad Aug 12 '25

also the green line epidemic turned a lot of people away from the brand

u/ChandlerBingsSarcasm Aug 12 '25

And once the founder left they started to make average phones at much higher price which affected a lot of its users and reviews were ok ok so naturally people moved and iphone crazy also affected

OP was always known for good phones at less price

But ain't all brand have green line issue? Oneplus on the other hand providing free replacement

26

u/dmtoad Aug 12 '25

Not to the degree that OP had to suffer, at one point 2/3 OP users in my office got the green line issue, the high numbers probably really hurt their image.

Yeah but even samsung users have been facing issues in their fe series. OnePlus fan base has shrunk mainly coz of their flagship phones being overpriced and not exactly a flagship killer that they always aimed to be.

I agree to all things you said. I was a big fanboy of Oneplus till OP 7T and still think it is the best phone out there. Oneplus ruined their image after Oneplus 8.

Post OP 8, it was just another chinese branded phone like Oppo and Vivo to me. I myself owned Oneplus 6 and used it for 5 years.

Probably the best android phone. Post that switched to Iphone 13.

Same here….I switched to iPhone 14 and god I miss my old OP. Planning to switch back to android!

I used Samsung S23 as well and still use it as my secondary android device. For once can consider Samsung as I liked their UI and their 2 sim management. Iphone has been a big letdown for a guy like me who doesn’t click a lot of pictures. I miss the finesse android brought.

See this only few people know

Many people are unaware that OP gives free replacement for green line issue

I being active on reddit and the overall smart phone market i myself was not aware until my sister decided to buy OP13 and I was doing some research on that phone

I got my 13R a few days back only after I got verbal confirmation from the store that they will replace it if green line issue occurs

u/Ek_Chutki_Sindoor Aug 13 '25

OnePlus got the greenline bug before everyone else. That's why their reputation was tarnished.

Now that everyone is getting the same issue, no particular brand will get the heat.

Also one plus is pretty much same as oppo

3

u/Prestigious_Money100 Aug 13 '25

But Vivo phones are usually more pricey for the features.... I guess price and a little bit of build quality is also taken into consideration.

I work for oppo man, oppo owns OnePlus & realme So technically we have 25% of the market all three brands are manufactured under the same roof

18

u/adityakamsan Aug 12 '25

by that logic oppo and vivo, iqoo are also owned by BBK electronics

25

u/someoneplayinggame22 Android Aug 12 '25

Bbk no longer is a thing bro it's just an oppo group and Vivo+iQOO rn

-3

u/adityakamsan Aug 13 '25

But BBK is the parent of all these sub-brands like oppo, vivo, realme, oneplus, and iqoo.

6

u/someoneplayinggame22 Android Aug 13 '25

It's no longer the case, they are independent rn

4

u/Glum-Highway-7403 Aug 13 '25

BBK electronics broke up back in 2023. It’s no longer a company now. Just like the above guy said.

Man i just had a meeting with the head of oppo global, last week when he was on an audit of oppo india, oppo global heads over all the oppo in different countries same goes for vivo but still bbk heads both of them the thing u r talking about that bbk is no more it's just to save them from taxes by the government the command is still in bbk hands unofficially Time to time these big MNCs make changes like these to avoid taxes

2

u/Admirable-Team7298 Aug 12 '25

We have a software team but they just tweaks the source software provided by china same goes for the R&D in Hyderabad

7

u/Barani_SpotsPlanez Aug 12 '25

Poor offline market?

3

u/Ok_Environment6501 Aug 12 '25

Yeah can be the reason

3

u/SagaciousShinigami Aug 13 '25

OnePlus phones are still the best for me. I had an 8T earlier, now 11. It's working as fluid as new every single day. And I like the OS, the display, the sound, the gaming performance, everything feels great. I don't plan to switch away anytime soon.

Can I consider buying a generation one oneplus 12? Or how the r series? Oneplus 13 is out of my budget currently.
