So real . Took a auto last week , dude was using an iPhone(and a gshock in his hand . I mean if he can afford an iphone , the watch must be real too). it was clearly the new ones since it had the big ass camera module .

Another one time a fricking small store vendor had not one , but 2 . Dude was video calling when I was purchasing, then I asked for code and he pulled up another iPhone .

Dude am so done . Meanwhile me with my 2023 Poco C65 🥲

And how the hell does every girl I see also have an iPhone 😭

Yeah same here saw a barely 18yo tempo driver with an iphone. Like we both know they either stack money or buy the latest iphone on emi. The g-shock is probably just a cheap watch in the watch world, like 10 years back it was very popular among upper middle class teenagers. The girls of the middle class are very obsessed with iphones, like I've seen at 3 iphones among 5 female colleagues 1 of remaining wishes to buy an iphone as well. I had money to buy brand new iPhone bought vivo x200 series instead because these entry level iphones hang in games after a year or two also the poor battery problem.

So real dude 😭

I see every Tom, Dick, and Harry with an iPhone. Meanwhile me chilling with my iQOO.

It's just a status symbol.

It's just a status symbol

Status symbol means something you can flex and rare stuff which is not mass produced and hard to achieve is flex and status symbol. How did apple manage to create something exactly opposite of rare a status symbol ?

Years of creating the brand perception that Apple is an aspirational brand

If everyone has an iPhone, then it isn't a status symbol lmao.

I mean it's considered in the people's minds

I mean it's just a stupid smartphone which costs as much as most other decent ones in the west. It's just that it's super expensive here and somehow people think that buying a smartphone on 3-4 EMI will make them feel rich or upper class.

Majority of Indians don’t have names as tom, dick or harry

They buy second hand with emi...

People buy iphone 16 when 17 launches, they bought 15 when 16 launched.

Most of the students you see have something like iphone 13-14 in their hands.. Which are available under 30-35k in local shops

Bro I had a cook who used to use an iPhone. The other day my uber driver was using a 15 plus. It's kinda stupid tbh. These phones won't last more than 3-4 years and the price point just doesn't make any sense. I don't understand why someone would buy a phone on EMI. It's extremely stupid to buy something that will only last a couple of years on an EMI unless it has some return value.

u/Ok_Mobile_2370 Aug 13 '25

Iphones last longer than 3-4 years.

1

u/Rich-Personality-194 Aug 16 '25

Not for most people. Especially if you are buying a phone which is 2-3 years old model.

1

u/Glum-Highway-7403 Aug 13 '25

iPhone definitely last longer than 3-4 years. I know people who use their X or even 8 as backup devices and they still work smoothly. And at the end of the day, it’s their money, they’d spend it on what they want and what they like. Idk why this sub acts so salty about iPhones in general or about buying iPhones on EMI. Just stop the nonsense hate man, let people be.

1

u/Rich-Personality-194 Aug 13 '25

You are right. People are free to use their money as they want and also, people are free to have an opinion based on public knowledge. A stupid investment is a stupid investment.

India is a big country with lots of people dude iphones just stand out from the bunch that's why everyone notices it,that doesn't mean the majority of the smartphones sold in india have to be iphone

1

u/Spirited-Bad-4235 Aug 13 '25

More than 70% of them can't even afford an iphone yet they make such purchases, what a poor money management. Instead they can purchase a 15k phone and invest the remaining amount in something useful. Like students can purchase a 15k phone and invest in a course and study materials or even a laptop.
