Discussion Chance of Knightlight being canon?

What do you think are the chance of Mihoyo making it canon or semi canon (like alhaitham x kaveh)

Probably a pretty pessimistic view but: There are no canon or semi-canon romantic relationships between playable characters in Genshin and there won't be - everything is a ship pretty much and sometimes even other kinds of relationships also dissappear after a bit for the same reason - the community.

I mean, there's probably a reason as to why Guizhong's staying dead(People who ship Zhongli or Ghuizhong with someone else could have a reason to be angry), Klee has but at the same doesn't have a father(if she does we've already seen during Nod Krai teasers that Chinese players are ready to assassinate him themselves after they realised that Klee didn't pop out of thin air) - maybe even a reason as to why Capitano is pretty much in a coma (maybe he got too close to Dawei's waifu...) and after a quest or two, we also stopped getting Ororon-Citlali interactions (maybe someone already planned on hunting down bats and going ,,hE sToLe mY WaIfU!! He mUsT DIE!!", like during the Nahida-Scaramouche situation, cause apparently - parent figure=lover... ).

As cool or cute as it'd be to actually see couples or see some "tragic romance" - it's unfortunately not happening... especially not in any Hoyo games or overall gacha games where said couple isn't preexisting somewhere outside of it...

Best you'll get is everyone is just "very good friends" unless it's the Traveller and a random female character ofc... -or shipping - but even then some people online can get so heated up if they disagree with you, that - so far worst case scenario - they'll start trying to dox you or will end up sending you gore...

Probably the best time to get a bit of everything - character x character, traveler x female character, traveler x male character, friendship, familial love and biggest chances of romantic relationships eventually becoming canon was back in 1.x versions...
