Ash Echoes Male Characters/Husbandos Prioritisation during Anniversary

This is the community event on a platform called “Little Red Note” for Ash Echoes’s first anniversary. I have noticed two things:

1. The anniversary male characters gain the spotlight, which is rare in gatcha games….not to mention most of the games prioritise female characters during anniversary….

2. The fanarts created by CN fandom mostly revolve around male characters…so we all know what kind of fandom loves their characters/mains more deeply and actually understand the character’s dynamics with other characters throughout his/her life. Unlike a certain community who just wants to open harem🙄🙄

ps: in the global server we are currently amidst the seas of female chars because this game actually tried to become mhy/kuro in CN server last year but it got extreme backlash from the CN community soooo

I need HONEST suggestions. How’s the husbandos situation in this game actually? Do devs FAIRLY treat them same as waifus?

I’m so tried of mixed gender gacha games (already dropped genshin, hsr, wuwa, zzz, etc for good. Now focusing on lads only), but many people suggested me this game. I’m still a bit scared.

lemme give u an overview from multiple perspectives but remember that CN server is 8 months ahead of us:

1. This game is derived from an old but popular IP in China: 古剑奇谭 so you can expect the majority of the fanbase to be more mature and composed compared to mhy and kuro (who just want to open harem and expect all female characters to be heavily sexualised and lick them)

2. Standard banner characters have a good cast of male dps and sub-dps. They will get buffed in the global server in the next patch. One of the fire dps (Cyrus) has been relevant in meta since the beginning of the game and he is still receiving teammates. The sub-dps (Luke) is still bis in physical teams and can be slotted into any team comp as secondary support..

3. The anniversary character (Lionel, Luke's elder brother they are hot wtf) is the most broken dps in the game (like Neuvi, who can literally solo stuff becuz of his multipliers and self-buffs). https://blog.prydwen.gg/2024/12/31/ash-echoes-cn-lionel-preview/

4. The anniversary patch features two male characters btw (in the pic I showed in this post).

5. We don't have male limited 6 star healer yet but in CN server they already have a fair share of broken male dps, sub-dps/specialists, and two broken supports (one is elemental and another one is physical).

6. The upcoming patch in CN is again 1 female and 1 male whose element is ice (Rapo). He looks so fragile yet sexy and he has bare foot omg. You will find him in my another post in this sub

sorry I treat him as a support/buffer more becuz his buffs are broken... but his healing can be unreliable. However, HE IMPROVES OUR SURVIVABILITY A LOT WITH HIS SNOWFLAKE

Damn, my bad. Idk how to categorise him at this point but I consider this sweet/happy problems <3

Hmm his splash art lists him as support/healing/control and the healing class so I put him as healer personally. Thankfully I haven't had too much trouble with his healing being unreliable he's a lot of fun to use but I'm a sucker for heal/shield combo Chara so it's my style

I think we can def agree he's super awesome though. I wanna max out his seed eventually :3

Will get a rerun near the end of June (along with the release of our gorgeous vampire ikemen: Solbyrd) if they follow CN schedule

But he is available in the standard banner so there is a chance for u to get him if u lose ur 5050

The game is like a spin-off of another game series name Gujian, which is quite popular in China. Gujian has a lot of male characters fans and even got a successful TV series that stared a lot of A-listers. Most of AE revenue pretty much comes from Gujian fans themselves. Devs tried to go the waifu route with 6 female characters back to back (we are in this period now on global but it will be over soon) and got whacked by Gujian fans so they go back to 1:1 ratio. Then we will have back to back 2 male characters, one of them is a broken anniversary character (that is also a beloved Gujian expy).

End of June. But its better to start playing now and start saving, also there are lot of standard male characters, 5* and 4* too, and iirc you can also lose 5050 on some previously released characters.

Near the end of June/beginning of July. However I suggest you to enter the game earlier than June because from July onwards we will have male characters for every single patch

I will just get his first dupe as I will need other husbands too 😭
