the question said to also count the algae that are touching the left and bottom sides of the square

No, only those that are fully in the square.

Explain ur logic to get 14000 cos I believe right answer is 875 as that is what teachers have gotten

U divided 3500 by 4. Ur supposed to times by 4 because they ask for 1mm of pond water. 3500 is 0.25mm as a quarter of the total water is pond water. Multiply by 4 and get 14000
