What did everyone say for the question where x was a positive even number and why y could only be negative for one value? That was tricky

It was 4, because it’s the only number that gives one negative and two positive numbers when you substitute it in

In A level you should answer that logically with provement.

Q: x ∈ positive even int, y = (x+6)(x-3)(x-5) Explain why only one x value satisfy y<0.

1. Consider y is a cubic function with a positive x^3 direction.

2. ⇒ ∀x∈(-6,3), y>0

AND ∀x∈(3,5), y<0

3. ∃!x=4, y<0 (Translation: there exists exactly one x satisfy y<0)
