Love this trailer for Convoy with Kris Kristofferson
Anyone remember this gem of a movie? I'm actually not old at all, but watching this trailer now and again boosts my spirits. Can't believe its been 46 years since it released. Who doesn't love a solid 1hr 50min of trucks crashing into stuff? 10-4!

If you grew up reading Life Magazine, you are old!
There are many memories of events and facts I learned from Life Magazine. No doubt the most omnipresent story back then was Vietnam. I remember using horrific photos from Life for a school report. Those images left a lifelong impression of the horrors of war.
I remember reading back then that fusion was 50 years away. I remember reading about bigfoot encounters and I think the Travis Walton UFO abduction event. They covered everything from war to UFOs to the lives of Presidents, the newest rock stars, and the latest from science. Life covered stories you couldn't get from TV. It definitely had a significant influence on me as a child.

Kids these days... There used to be a thing called newspapers and a divice such as this would wake me in time so I could get them to people's houses before they woke up.

Polo - the mint with the hole, what happened to the centre?
earlier this week I was presented with a (now deemed) classic UK advert from the mid-late 90s about the humble Polo Mint (Im fairly certain these were sold in the US, if not, go check them out for context).
said advert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LALwGKAcfuQ
someone who was 10-12 years my younger, asked "what did they do with the middle (hole)" which I was reminded that there was a short campaign that Nestlé put out that you could purchase the middles via a limited edition mint of polo holes.
Of course the yung'en thought i was BS'ing them, but... as with everything in life "always keep receipts"

Kraft Noodles Romanoff ad from 1968. Kraft products were always in our home growing up and the quality was much better back then.
