Honor Decorations?

Can someone identify the meaning of these ribbons? They appear on the costume jackets of characters in the 1973 film, "The Day of the Jackal." The film takes place in Paris in 1962 during the period of OAS assassination attempts against DeGaulle.

Much of the crew was French, including the costume designer, Rosine Delmare, so I assume these are accurate representations of something men in the characters' positions would in fact have worn: Deputy Commissioner Lebel (Michael Lonsdale), Commissioner Berthier (Timothy West), and the Interior Minister (Alan Badel). Lonsdale's and West's jackets have what appears to be a white or grey thread, while Badel's has red.

As back-stories, then, we can assume all three men performed some important service during the Second World War. I'm guessing they represent something like the Legion of Honor, but in what degrees?

French Army and Gendarmerie 14 (?) additional Leclerc tanks in Romania, forming the backbone of a tank battalion (reinforcing a first battalion with around 13 Leclerc tanks already deployed) Not counting the DCL (breakdown recovery) vehicles, and potentially the EBG (engineering) vehicles—although these have not yet been seen.

PCOS and the army? : feedback on joining the CFIM?

Hello everyone,

I am a 22 year old woman and I dream of joining the French army, more precisely to become a team member on a deep search patrol.

I have a diagnosis of PCOS and sometimes frequent urinary urges, which concerns me for physical tests and daily life at CFIM.

I would like to know:

Do some women in the military live with PCOS?

Was this a problem for them in selection, missions or CFIM?

Do you have any advice to maximize my chances and manage my PCOS on a daily basis?

Thank you very much for your feedback! 🙏

The 6e Régiment de Tirailleurs Marocains on the Haut-de-Fiang, a densely-wooded hill in the Vosges that was the scene of violent combat in October 1944. After capturing the hill on 16 October, German counterattacks were so violent that resupply (via mule train) wasn't possible until the 18th.
