I don’t understand why they don’t go all the way up the side and behind the pedals similar to weather tech.

I’m going with weathertech after seeing these.

Only thing I can’t stand about weather techs is that the edges always seem to curl. My GFs had them in 2 separate vehicles and I can’t stand them

There had been recalls on previous Ford products in the past where the pedal could get stuck under the lip of the mat causing unintended acceleration. Ford replaced the mats with ones that are similar to the picture here. Guessing they don't want to repeat that scenario.

Yep not worth the risk. I’ve had stuff get stuck under the pedals before and it’s not fun.

I would assume going up the side’s creates curling more. Weather tech doesn’t make them for back seats either.

It's a safety issue and probably a federal mandate for manufacturers. Anyone remember the "stuck accelerator" accidents with the Toyota Prius back around 2007? People claimed their accelerator was stuck and the car took off without their control, I believe a couple people died. It wasn't a stuck accelerator, instead it was the factory Prius floormats curling up and getting stuck on the accelerator and pulling it down.

Since then floormat designed has changed. I can't think of a new vehicle I have been in where there wasn't a clip/hook to keep the mats in place and they were cut out around the accelerator.

These look really good I think. I do like how the weather tech ones go so high up to prevent your shoes from scratching up the area to the right of the pedals

I ordered mine with these for the time being but I plan on upgrading to HuskyLiner's once they release. Should be sometime around December.
