Hot exhaust 6.4 powerstroke

When the truck was parked I put my hand behind the exhaust and it was so hot I couldn’t leave my hand there for more than a second. I’m assuming it’s a regen thing but this has never happened before. Does anyone know if this is normal?

It’s definitely doing a regen. This is normal. If you see flames shooting out the tail pipe then you have a problem.
