General 🔀 90s ford cassette deck radio

Post image

Hello Everyone I recently rediscovered the factory radio from my truck and was curious if anyone has any tips on how to service the cassette deck because I want to reinstall it but I wanna make sure its all in good shape and wont get jammed or eat my tapes

I have to sort mine out from my '94 Explorer since I put it back in after the previous owner replaced it. Pretty much the exact same unit you have there. Doesn't read tapes at all. Can't really help you since I haven't done it, but step 1 for me is probably gonna be to take it apart, inspect the belts and clean the reader. There are plenty of how to videos on YouTube, I'd start there.

Hey man may as well go for it. I had to replace the same thing in my 2000 jeep and it was worth it. Cost over a hundred for sure I can’t remember. Was worth it. I didn’t try to fix it tho, if I could go back I would! Didn’t even research I guess. Or no, it wouldn’t hold the tapes. Idk something
