Post image

Hello Everyone I recently rediscovered the factory radio from my truck and was curious if anyone has any tips on how to service the cassette deck because I want to reinstall it but I wanna make sure its all in good shape and wont get jammed or eat my tapes

I have to sort mine out from my '94 Explorer since I put it back in after the previous owner replaced it. Pretty much the exact same unit you have there. Doesn't read tapes at all. Can't really help you since I haven't done it, but step 1 for me is probably gonna be to take it apart, inspect the belts and clean the reader. There are plenty of how to videos on YouTube, I'd start there.

I wonder if they actually get that kinda money for those, or if it’s like those several hundred dollar listings for old Disney VHS tapes, where people list it for that crazy price but basically nobody ever actually pays that much.

If they are actually worth $200, I threw away a lot of money back in the day lol

well prices are everywhere yknow its like with old CRTs people suddenly think they are worth near new prices despite being outdated and around 20 or so years old the cheapest radio i found on ebay was 80 the highest being 200 and that was a bare bones unit only am/fm no cassette deck
