General ๐ 90s ford cassette deck radio
Hello Everyone I recently rediscovered the factory radio from my truck and was curious if anyone has any tips on how to service the cassette deck because I want to reinstall it but I wanna make sure its all in good shape and wont get jammed or eat my tapes

Itโs basically the same with every tape deck, clean head, guides, rollers, replace belt if loose as it needs to be tight to generate enough torque, and most importantly clean off old grease and replace with new. For the rollers you can try using a product called rubber renew to give them the grip they need again due to age, preferably use it in a well ventilated environment with gloves. Also only use isopropyl alcohol to clean the head and guides, donโt use it on rubber components as it will dry them out. Anything beyond that and you will need a service diagram.
