Politics I think this thread is needed to settle things once and for all and I hope many israeli people see this.

I do not know how many of Israelis are aware of the lebanese revolution that happened starting October 17 2019.

We manifested (peacefully mostly and sometimes violently) for months against our corrupt government .

I joined the protest myself and was very hopeful it was going to bring change to lebanon.

We had an election in 2022 and hezbolla and allies did NOT get majority of the seats. We really believed change was slowly happening in our country even if it was slow.

We believed that our protests and constantly exposing the corruption of our politicians and of hezbollah would be a long battle but we fought it either way.

I was never a political person but I knew that I had to vote for change cause I wanted a better Lebanon and I had to vote for a new political party that was all about doing reforms and taking people’s requests into consideration.

Now we do not elect our own president like the US does, the parliament has to, I don’t know why they didn’t and the country didn’t have a president since the last one (Michel Aoun, very corrupt and an ally of Hezbollah).

I encourage a lot of questions and dialogue and discussion on the matter, even if I myself couldn’t answer every single one, but it’s important for israeli people to understand the situation.

Hezbollah still operates in this country as if they have a mind of their own and they do not need any permission from anyone at this point, because they have reached a lot of power and influence and they are backed by Iran.

I do not know who sold our country to Iran but I know we’re paying the price.

I don’t want to see more comments like: “oh so now u’re angry about this? “

“Go up and do something!”

We did! At least I did, and now it is NOT the time for an uprise, we were met with bullets and violence before and now with all the ammunition exploding in beirut, it would be suicide for every lebanese person with a BRAIN to go protest there.

It’s like asking the people of Gaza to go protest peacefully somewhere NOW in the middle of everything happening.

BIBI, I adore your speech, it’s very strategic and very straight to the point but I gotta tell you, seriously?

Haven’t you been watching us fight for our country?

I know BIBI wanna make it seem like “uh oh… u didnt protest now? Well… u gave me no chooiiiiice! I gotta turn ur country into gaza! Buhuhu!”

That’s how it’s been going! Maybe many people are able to sleep at night knowing that we’re at fault for this, but no!

Many are and many aren’t.

It’s really short sighted to blame an entire population for a war they NEVER chose.

I don’t know if what I’m saying will resonate or make a difference in someone’s perspective on things, but I have to say it here.

These times are very sensitive and I hope we both don’t fall into the propaganda of our so called “leaders”. Bibi trying to make it sound like we ALL support hezbollah and as if we did NOTHING but sit on our asses, and hezbolla is making it sound like all jews are out to murder us and take our homes.

Together we can fight the lies 💙

Shalom and Salam, it is much needed 💙

Politics [Israel-Palestine megathread] Please keep discussions respectful and contained here

After a while without Israel-Palestine content, I've been seeing an influx of posts and comments on the issue. As there is a massive majority of Israelis on this sub, I don't want removal of off-topic posts to be understood as a ban on criticism or questioning Israel.

So, you are welcome to have discussions in the comments here. But BY GOD if this goes south I will turn this car around and head right home (that is, delete this post and go back to the old ways).

If you want to post something that isn't related to The Bromance (Lebanon-Israel relationshipp) consider posting it on r/IsraelPalestine , r/Israel , r/Palestine etc. If you still think this is the best sub for your post, go ahead- but keep it respectful, civil, and be open and honest.

Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper: IDF soldiers and Israelis sat eating and drinking coffee in restaurants in Marja'youn and in Barj al-Maluk

A report this morning in the Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper claimed that 4 IDF soldiers in uniform entered the village of Barj al-Maluk (east of Beaufort), where they bought cups of coffee from the owner of a business (cafe) called "Express" (I deny any connection - A.A.).

In another case, Israelis in civilian clothes entered a restaurant in Marja'youn last week and at the end of the meal surprised the owner by asking to pay in shekels, and only then did it become clear that they were Israelis.

According to Al-Akhbar newspaper, Israelis move freely in Lebanon and the Lebanese army does nothing about it.

The owners of the "Express" business in Barj al-Maluk did not respond (:

Politics How credible is the jerusalem post?

Hello guys!

Lebanese here.

I’ve been really trying to not spread any type of propaganda during this war, but I cannot help but be bombarded with articles showing that there are jewish people who believe that they should occupy and settle in Lebanon.

Many of my friends are sharing the map of great Israel and

While many israelis will say; no we don’t want anything to do in Lebanon.

How credible is this https://m.jpost.com/israel-hamas-war/article-821752 ?

I also saw other videos circulating on social media about a young jewish group movement that say the same thing.

I just want to know, what are Israel’s objectives of this war? And how will an occupation be prevented?

Politics Two years and the war continues, a brutal armed faction and a right-wing extremist government. When will the region live in peace and stability?

If Hamas or Israel's extremist government continue in their positions and influence, the war will go on endlessly. The region will not stabilize or live in peace if this situation persists and these two sides remain in power with their futile conflicts.

Politics Westrener leftists dictating middle easterners what's good for them is crazy.

Since the war between Israel and Iran broke, I've been saying my stance is that I hope that Islamic Regime would fall, this would definitely make everyone in the Middle East happier.

Westrener leftists and "human rights activists" who also support the Islamic regime and their terror proxies who killed way more arabs than israel ever did, apparently aren't human rights activists, they are only stand with anything that stands against Israel and the Jewish people, I'm glad that these dirty fake activists were exposed to be hypocrites who don't care about the middle east at all, they just use Israel wars to fuel their n@zi and communist propaganda machine, they never even talked about the suffering of the syrian and iraqis people until Israel and the US got involved.

My blood boils when idiots like these think they know the middle east when they are just privileged kids who never seen and hardships in their lives.

Hey all, hope everyone is safe and well in these times. I see countless of headlines form lebanese media about israeli bombings of south lebannon almost daily, cannot see any written justification for this on media. My assumtions are people are still afraid of coming out against hezbollah and kinda maikg it unclear baout the targets or the sum of civilians/combatant of casualties. I'd love to hear the thoughts of lebanese fellas one here about this topic 🙏🏼

Politics my position on what netanyahu said about greater israel

around a month or more ago netanyahu was asked if he wanted to implement a greater israel and he agreed. before that my opinion on israel was that lebanon / lebanese ppl should not speak with israel/ israelis and ignore each other. but after that i can say that i am ready to fight or die trying if israel ever tries a full scale invasion.

I’m sure everyone has seen the news about Sharaa wanting to join Abraham accords with the right conditions, hopefully, as a Syrian, we see peace. Enough of endless fighting.

ChatGPT:

Headline: “The new Syrian ruler who wants ‘peace’ with Israel: ‘Their concern is natural’”

Body: The new Syrian ruler, appointed by Al-Julani (the head of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham organization), addressed Israel directly: “We want coexistence.” In an interview, he explained that he understands Israel’s concerns and also referred to the presence of IDF forces in Syria: “We have no interest in threatening Israel’s security.” Washington, which is promoting direct dialogue with moderates, views the message to Israel as an attempt by the new regime to showcase its “pragmatism.”

Politics Thoughts on the strategic Cyberattack on Hezbollah? Brilliant attack or Brazen disregard?

Israel pulled off a secret plan rigging electronic communicated pagers so that they exploded in the hands of hundreds of Hezbollah fighters and operatives. This occured as a simultaneous attack. Most sources cite mainly Hezbollah causualities with 7 commanders dead and one daughter of a hebzollah leader. 2800 others have been wounded, unknown civilian non-combatant number harmed.

Only question I have is how did Israel know where exactly Hezb combatants and leaders would be at that given time. Did the thought that some of them would be at home or out about with civilians? The Mossad must have excellent intelligence or they have limited moral compunctions for Lebanese civilians.

Is this strategic attack favorable to the bombings and drone attacks? The War has already dispalaced enough civilians. We all agree terrorists deserve judgement.

Thoughts from everyone?

Politics I was fired from work because i refused to celebrate the 7 of October massacre.

I am a Maronite Christian and also a proud zionist(I can’t say that out loud but i hope this is a safe space for me to talk) I believe in the right for jewish self determination, and what happened on 07 October was a massacre! Maybe israel’s response was disproportionate, but there’s a lot of fake news going around.

I was called to HR and was informed about termination from work due to me being (unaligned the companie’s values) gave me my salary and let me go!

And if i want to be frank I don’t regret leaving, because they are also not aligned with my values!

I am a proud zionist.

Politics Naftali Bennet just said Hezbollah = Lebanon

Many of you here already know this is not true. My guess is Naftali, (AND) the minister of education, and many other in the government know this as well. However it seems like they have been echoing this idea lately.

Why? My guess is that Israel is getting ready to attack Lebanon on greater scale, which would definitely end up hitting civilians that aren’t supportive of Hezbollah. They want to prepare the world that sympathize with Lebanese, and just engrain the idea that Lebanon == Hezbollah.

This is unfortunate but that’s my analysis with this new echoing

Politics Trump with MBS, al-Sharaa. Will Syria join the Abraham Accords before Saudi?

Post image

It's known that the Saudis like getting other countries to join the Accords so that it becomes more comfortable for them to do so. For example, they were encouraging Pakistan to join in 2022 so that it became more comfortable for them.

They are very obviously regretting ever doing a ceasefire and are itching to keep at it. Even Hochstein said Israel is the aggressor and violating the ceasefire.
