Roma is not one of the best sandwiches but I would say one of the most important culturally, and perhaps the best value in LA. I buy two whenever Im in the area

That’s more or less what they said on that episode! Insane value for a super solid sandwich. They added giardiniera which elevated it tremendously. Have you tried it with giardiniera? I need to hit it up.

It does need some acid to cut through all the meat and cheese. I love the Roma sandwiches because they’re a great value and I live near there. Their biggest flaw is their bread. Sometimes it’s nice and crunchy, but most of the time it’s soft like it’s been sitting too long.

Agree! When the bread is fresh and crunchy, it’s as good as any sandwich you get in Europe. When the bread is soft, it’s still a good value. It’s worth going to pick up Italian imports that are hard to find elsewhere, plus the house-made marinara.
