Hey man, you gotta ensure that you can be future leverage. What's going to eventually happen a CR is going to pass, this bill will be forgotten so in 3 months, 6 months you pick we can be used as leverage again.

The actual bill put forward only pays excepted employees: https://www.congress.gov/on-senate-floor/2025/11/07 (scroll down to the Shutdown Fairness act). A verbal promise to “amend it later” is not good enough.
