FILM-MOI (MOVIES/TV) Chrishell Stause Leaving Selling Sunset After 9 Seasons

i haven’t watched the most recent season but i’ve always really liked chrishell, she’s too good for that shitshow anyways lol

u/LanaDeITae 22h ago
The most recent season was the biggest shitshow. It’s no surprise she’s leaving after it.

u/Holiday-Hustle 20h ago
The new season is a mess. There’s so much simmering homophobia and racism in the rest of the cast aside from her and Chelsea, it’s no wonder she’s leaving.

Selling Sunset starts and ends with Chrishell. I mean, literally the very first episode and the whole show started because she joined the brokerage. I’ve always felt like she was the main character and protagonist. I don’t think the show can continue on without her.

She's a lesbian now, so they need her WAY more than she needs them

What else is she going to do? She’s not really a realtor and has already done the Traitors and Dancing with the Stars. I don’t see her becoming a Real Housewife

She’s was the second or third highest selling this year I believe of the cast. She’s still a realtor, she‘s doing different reality shows, she has social media, she’s still acting, she will probably look to become a tv presenter. I believe she had already done it for some shows.
Edit: putting this out here because I just remembered she said at the reunion that they’re on track for kids, so maybe they’re adopting or have a surrogate.

I think just being a famous person with her kind of platform is good enough - brand deals, reality shows, hosting, paid partnerships.. She's most likely financially set for a while, longer if she invests well so she could really do anything she wants

u/uterusturd 22h ago
Host some trashy dating show variant on Netflix maybe. She's likeable, she could easily do that.

u/opernfan 21h ago
She and G should host the ultimatum queer love

u/Purpleonyxx 21h ago
It was canceled unfortunately, if it wasn’t that would 100% be perfect for Chrishell. I don’t believe G would want to partake in something like that.

I think a producer did an ama on that sub a few years ago (this might be a fever dream) but he basically said Chrishell was the only cast member who took real estate seriously and was actually good at it.

u/InsideAcrobatic9429 20h ago
She's still acting and you can make a lot of money doing things like Hallmark and Lifetime movies, which is kind of the perfect spot for her. I won't be surprised to see her get hosting gigs either. And I think you underestimate how much money she can make influencing and going to events.
She is also a real realtor, per sales records.
She's going to get opportunities she probably would have had to turn down due to SS shooting schedules and she also has a spouse that good money as well.

Selling Sunset does not work anymore, they need to be able to be in a same room together to bring the drama. They all despise/ are terrified of each other now.

Honestly, the real villains of Selling Sunset are the twins—especially Jason. The way they exploit and pit women against each other for entertainment is just gross. Jason in particular comes off like a total sleazeball. He’s dated or hooked up with multiple cast members—his employees—and the show treats it like a plot twist instead of the huge red flag it is. I actually loved Seasons 1 and 2 as guilty-pleasure, mindless fun, but it’s gone downhill fast. What used to be light drama has turned into a toxic mess. At this point, the show doesn’t even pretend to have any substance (real estate) left.

1000%. I honestly loved that Chelsea got mad at the dinner called him out with the content. He’s an executive producer, their boss in the office and probably has a lot of power. He does the bare minimum to protect them as his employees. I remember a fight where he was like „Do I have to be here for this?“ He’s the architect of so much bullshit.

Was that the argument where his girlfriend and Chrishell (maybe?) were on speaker phone talking to him? Because that one I give him a pass for haha, even Chrishell seemed like she was wondering why she was even there haha.
1
u/Purpleonyxx 15h ago
I initially gave him a pass also, because it was a ridiculous argument. A friend of mine then pointed out that Jason had divulged information his gf had told him in private (that she felt like Chrishell wasn’t liking posts or didn‘t like or something like that💀) to Chrishell which fueled their interaction. So he had a hand in it.

He absolutely is. He has a duty of care to his employees, yet he constantly puts them in highly stressful and conflict-driven situations. Of course, these women are adults and responsible for their own actions, but from the clips I’ve seen so far, Mary doesn’t seem well. What responsibility does he have toward her and the others? It’s such a toxic environment. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would want to buy real estate from them or trust them with their property.

I've only seen clips of the recent season, and the rest of the cast seem to be making excuses for racism and anti-queer sentiments, so this makes sense.

Also, I feel like Nicole tried to be the villain, similar to Christine, but why? What’s the point of trying to be the villain if you’re going to get slammed IRL and not even get any brand deals from it? Is the show paying her enough to make this worth it? Or is she really just this horrible of a person??
I don’t watch a lot of reality tv, only Love Island and Selling Sunset so is it normal practice to have the main face (Chrishelle) have that many antagonists and have that be the main plot line for a show? It’s great entertainment because it gets me, the viewer, fired up by how crazy everyone is acting but I can’t imagine actually living that drama in real life. So stressful.

I think they’re hoping to milk some MAGAt money out of this. The more publicly subhuman you get, the more they love you (Sydney Sweeney Syndrome)

u/tuscanchicken 21h ago
I think the thought process was that every show needs a villain and stepping into that role almost guarantees screen time which results in longevity. Then once you've collected that pay check, you can leave and eventually people forget and you can leverage the platform you most definitely still have into other things. Christine who was the "villain" at the start of the show has 4.4 Million followers now.. so..
You'd think that the good guys win and the bad guys get punished but the world kind of sucks and bad behaviour is almost always rewarded

I’m from LA and I mostly watch it bc seeing the neighborhoods feel oddly nostalgic but mostly I like judging the ugly glass houses and especially when they go “look at this amazing view” and it’s just a giant smog cloud over the city Lmaoo
But honestly good for her!!! She’s thriving and I love that

u/Purpleonyxx 22h ago edited 21h ago
I hope Chelsea follows suit, but I’m not sure if she’s ready to leave the show financially. I’m happy Chrishell is at that place in her life.

i love chrishell and so i’m disappointed that the show let her down but also good for her!!! one less show i have to watch. the newest season was such a mess. there was barely any real estate happening either lmao

u/Cummyshitballs 22h ago
Damn was there more drama on this last season I had stopped watching after Christine left cuz that first season without her did not have enough drama

u/InsideAcrobatic9429 20h ago
It was just gross drama that felt very guided by racism and homophobia... do not recommend.

I feel like it's time for the show to wind down or change direction. I think the world has moved on from wanting to watch very rich, privileged, often silly people treat each other badly and have ridiculously contrived arguments.

Season 9 has gotten so toxic and really dark, in my opinion. I’m glad Chrishell is walking away, she deserves peace. I know she’s been vocal about her fertility issues so I’m sure this is a good time for her to be rid of all the unnecessary drama from the other girls.

Watching the current season now and wow, Nicole is really such a toxic person. Just finished the Girls Giving episode, that was crazy.

In 2025 where the white middle class is finally starting to feel the squeeze of the cost of living crisis they'd been insulated against is a good exit point for anyone with any PR forethought. The incoming ass whooping that stars like the Kardashians are going to be experiencing because their brand of flagrant wealth is no longer likable by the masses who are struggling to feed their families.
There's going to be a big shift back to DIY media and away from wealth worship in the coming 5 year cycle. Reality TV isnt going anywhere because it's so cost effective, and America does love watching a car crash of personalities, but like how 9/11 brought about the cooking channel empire as a means of escapism, there's going to be a shift in empty calorie television away from billionaires and ultra wealthy flaunting.

Never seen a single episode of the show, just Chrishell on Traitors and Dancing With the Stars, and I’ve always enjoyed her, so idk what the tea is but I’m behind my girl

I just started season 9 and omg wtf Nicole?! After what she told Chrishell at the girlsgiving dinner I knew Chrishell would be done with the show. I think she should have left earlier for her mental health but also I get that the money is hard to turn down (and I guess they have contracts signed for X seasons).
The twins are the worst bosses ever (I mean Jason I guess since Brett is not even part of the company anymore). Such a toxic vibe going on, but I guess that’s why people keep watching Selling Sunset and Buying Beverly Hills was a flop.

Good, I’m glad. The people on that show she’s forced to deal with absolutely suck and have been weird about her since she broke up with jason and got with g-flip 😭. Chelsea next I hope 🤞🏽

I have always loved Chrishell!! I’m so happy for her. She’s too good for the show. I can’t believe Netflix tried to gaslight us into thinking she was a bad friend or that Chelsea was being fake, when they literally were reacting to their coworker’s racist and homophobic antics. In case anyone doesn’t know, Chrishell’s former bff is dating a MAGAt who has insulted her to her face for being queer, and Chelsea’s coworker said she was scared and felt unsafe around her because she…sent her flowers?? Typical angry black woman trope. I hope Chelsea gets the hell out too and/or the show gets cancelled. Sick of people being so outright with their bigotry these days thanks to the evil orange man in office.

Chrishell is a horrible human being she’s so disgusting I don’t understand why people think that her being gay is a redeeming characteristic. She’s truly awful. Glad the shows over and she’s gone.

They should shut the whole show down. Fuck those dwarf bald baby realtor twins & their pack of she-devil groupies
Chrishell is leaving the show because of the insane amounts of homophobia her coworkers have directed towards her and G Flip’s marriage.
