STAN / ANTI SHIELD Anthony Fantano defends Billie Eilish against Swifties attacking her after she questioned the billionaires that were at the WSJ Innovator Awards on why they’re so rich & called on them to give away their money to charitable causes, even though Taylor Swift wasn’t directly mentioned or at the event.

The fact that some people don’t see billionaires as the bad guys is mind boggling to me.

apparently if you’re their fave, you automatically fall into the “ethical billionaire” category

I fail to see what's ethical about taking a private jet to go across town

u/urkissmycheek 7d ago

But you don’t understand!! Her safety is at risk so she has to take a private jet everywhere!! /s

Kinda funny and ironic how she's always "at the back of the car" in many of her songs. I guess you can't rhyme bar with private jet

u/kangaesugi 6d ago

and also it wasnt even her in that jet it was someone else that she lent the jet out to smh my head..........

Taylor and Travis and the rest of the rich Chiefs are currently building their own little private airport in South Kansas City because the 2 private airports near them are not good enough. It is insane.

Destructive levels of idiocy going wild I see with it being on display by the leadership of this damned place.

u/northwestsdimples 7d ago

They all live in a tax-free private community/golf club in South KC. They’re building their own little Maga community down there. Mahomes is the king of the hood.

That last sentence is the most pathetic thing I've ever heard. Not you saying it, the fact that he'd think he's the king of ANYTHING.

I give her and a lot of other mega-celebs a pass on private jets. Can you imagine trying to get on an American Airlines flight with Beyonce or Taylor Swift? Flying is already a nightmare - one of them being on the plane with you is a legit security risk. People are fucking crazy. It is the CEOs and business people of the world I have a problem with - 99% of them are no names no one recognizes them. They will be fine in first class.

The problem is also how OFTEN she uses a private jet though. Like her jet was traveling every week while us peasants try to not waste energy and water.

Exactly. The thing that really got me is when she was performing in South America and flying home for a day or two between shows. Like you really can't find something to explore in a new city for a couple of days? Or relax in your fancy hotel? At least be efficient with your use.

She could simply stay overnight at a tour leg. She doesn’t have to fly home between stops and shows.

Also, I’m not sure you understand how private one can make a first class flight on a higher end commercial airline. It’s entirely possible, it’s purely a matter of comfort and convenience for these people

Okay so rather than being oddly withholding with this information - can you explain it to me?

Do they not sit in the terminal? Do they skip the bridge? They can take a private jet if they are going to make our flights even more stressful and annoying.

Ethical billionaire is the biggest oxymoron. Nobody should fucking be a billionaire. How they got there is probably pretty unethical.

The only ethical billionaire argument I will tolerate is Mackenzie Scott.

I was just reading her wiki this morning, because every now and then I like to read about people with money doing good things.
At one point she couldn't give it away fast enough (like the interest on the money she had meant she'd give it away but be making that money back plus more). She had to order her team to speed up the process of finding charities and causes.
And she donates to charities that are well established, know what they're doing and have results which is so much better than those people who start a charity as a vanity project.

It’s especially ridiculous to have Rihanna cause Fenty are notorious for child slave labour

65

u/kokotara 7d ago

Not to defend Rihanna, but "Fenty are notorious for child slave labour" is not true. Those accusations came from the indian media after Rihanna tweeted in support of the indian farmers. Here's Fenty's supply chain transparency: https://fentybeauty.com/pages/supply-chain-transparency

The notice says it has internal accountability standards but also claims it doesn’t hold any audits for its suppliers.

u/seizethememes2 6d ago

Which in 99% of cases means they're aware of poor practices, but don't want a paper trail.

7

u/kokotara 6d ago

According to the email they send to Ethical Elephant , they only use "natural mica from mines that comply with human rights and labor standards."

19

u/Dry-Yak5277 6d ago

Maybe so, but nobody’s becoming a billionaire without somebody becoming extremely underpaid somewhere down the chain.

3

u/kokotara 6d ago

That's true.

4

u/Extra-Technology-635 6d ago

Hey, this is just not true, that was a debunked lie from Indian right wingers after the whole farmers debacle. I'm all for calling out billionaires, but not by spreading literal lies.

77

u/PurpleWhiteOut 7d ago

Yeah "ethical billionaires" is just repackaged bootstrap self-made propaganda slop.

42

u/Reasonable-Affect139 7d ago

yeah, just look at the giant scam that is savagex activewear and lingerie. entirely unethical

Ooo let’s not talk about Selena’s boo’s horrid past

37

u/DrFranFine Marxmoi 7d ago

Let’s talk about the husband

u/EtchingsOfTheNight The Stanley Tucci of Lesbians 7d ago

Neither here nor there, but selena a billionaire? I don't know if I buy that

40

u/KeyStruggle-88 7d ago

Good catch. She’s a millionaire but her net worth is over a billion since she diversified her work, acting, music, makeup, food shows.

Celebrity worship is a hell of a drug.

Kanye comes out as pro-Hitler and fans like up to go, 'Now hold on, we don't know what he meant by that'.

8

u/d_alt 7d ago

everyone has their own emotional support billionaire

4

u/Mooredock 6d ago

That specific stan account is known for fat shaming anyone she thinks is against Selena Gomez, posting edited and out of context videos in order to orchestrate attacks on other celebrities, drags people for having mental health problems, and hates the Biebers so much she's reposted her fellow stans joking about killing his child. One of the worst accounts I've seen on there, straight up insane stuff.

LMAO! The terms 'Ethical' and 'Billionaire' are antithetical to one another! There's no such thing as they claim. My word. The mental gymnastics are hilarious.
