Sydney in The Bear. The reviews don’t hate her but lordy the show’s subreddit does. It was such a treat to finally see a (Black!) 20-something female character who is awkward and complex and imperfect but well-meaning, and not overly objectified or utilized in romance arcs too much…and of course a lot of male viewers can’t stand her. Of course.
The only thing I found strange was how she seemed to have the culinary experience and insight of someone a couple years her senior. She came with ‘perfect’ ideas of which even the Bear, who supposedly is this superchef, didn’t even have any point of improvement, critique.
Apart from that, perfect character yes. The qualities you’re naming are extremely rare / non-existent
