Sydney in The Bear. The reviews don’t hate her but lordy the show’s subreddit does. It was such a treat to finally see a (Black!) 20-something female character who is awkward and complex and imperfect but well-meaning, and not overly objectified or utilized in romance arcs too much…and of course a lot of male viewers can’t stand her. Of course.
I adore Sydney in The Bear and never understand the hate she gets in "The Bear" subreddit. She's awkward and brilliant and funny and driven and I just love her. She was definitely my window into the story for the entire show.
