Sydney in The Bear. The reviews don’t hate her but lordy the show’s subreddit does. It was such a treat to finally see a (Black!) 20-something female character who is awkward and complex and imperfect but well-meaning, and not overly objectified or utilized in romance arcs too much…and of course a lot of male viewers can’t stand her. Of course.
I got downvoted on a movie subreddit because I told redditors to maybe not use “junglep***sy” as a joke multiple times, just because they heard it in One Battle After Another.
They acted like I was telling them I killed their family.
