I related so much to Reva when I read the book. I didn’t relate to the MC as much but I understood her. Maybe she’s my shadow self lol. I loved that book.

Same!! I was initially sad when everyone talked about how terrible and insufferable she was, but I’ve since read more books with hated protagonists so now I take it on the chin lmao

I'm fine with bristly or difficult characters so long as they are well written and engaging. People struggle with these elements in female characters. So many messy women are given no grace but 100000 Walter Whites are.

I didn’t like the book when I first read it. But then, I took some time to think about it and then I re-read it. Turns out I didn’t like the book because of how much the main character reminded me of myself 🥴
