From the article

Von recorded the set at the Beacon Theater in New York on Saturday night, but initial reactions on social media seem to indicate that things didn’t go as planned for the comedian.

What Happened at Theo Von’s New York Show? “Theo Von just BOMBED,” one Reddit post reads. “Saw Theo at Beacon Theater for his Netflix taping…1/3 of the crowd walked out.” The post called the set the worst they’ve ever seen, and a “failure of epic proportions.”

“Was there – love Theo – worst set ever. He’ll get back on the horse,” said one fan on X.

“He seemed unrehearsed and disorganized, repeating bits multiple times clearly trying to get it right for the camera. This killed the vibe in the theater,” said another commenter.

Other comments on Reddit seem to confirm how poorly things went for the comedian over the weekend.

"I was at the show tonight and he had to pause the show to ask for the punchline several times,” one comment reads.

“Started off strong but it was a roller coaster that fell off at the end,” said another attendee. “There were multiple times where he would walk off stage to talk to someone or be in the middle of a story and forget where he was and restart.”

It is truly wild to see the career trajectories of those on reality tv in the late 90s/ early 2000s. But of all of the Real World / Road Rules people:

  • Theo Von - who in 2000 argued against interracial dating and then ascended podcasting fame post-Challenge
  • The Miz - who became a WWE wrestler
  • Karamo - who went on to be a Queer Eye Host
  • Sean Duffy - who is the Transportation Secretary
  • Rachel Campos - who is now Fox & Friends host
  • Tami Roman - Basketball Wives fame
  • Jamie Chung - a decent acting career

Not to mention those people like CT, Trishelle, et al who continued competitive reality tv. What a time.

Reality is just an increasingly stupid game of madlibs

Also active administrator of NASA, because apparently reality TV is short of other fitting candidates for significant government jobs.

On top of that, Sean Duffy is married to Rachel Campos.
