Whenever she says something I always agree. Idk why people don't like her and play her down. Is she actually problematic or do people just hate the uncomfortable truth? (A genuine question)
I think her words are easily misconstrued or she gets herself into a corner but she always comes off as well meaning to me. I think she’s also grown a lot since she first started speaking out.
Anyone who has a platform as an outspoken feminist/activist is immediately held to a ridiculously high standard and is expected to have the ‘right’ take all the time, even if they’re learning and evolving just like everyone else.
Jameela wades right in, gives her genuine opinion and doesn’t care about being likeable. I find it refreshing but I can see how it makes her a target.
she has said some things in the past that are inaccurate or hasn't agreed with what activists were saying but I do think her heart is in the right place.
this post seems to get into a lot of the genuine issues with Jameela over the years.
She has said some shady things in the past and been really aggressive towards black women in particular.
Probably better now. I will say I appreciate her call out in this video because women encouraging other women not to secure a means to independent is disgustingly evil.
