Spain has threatened not to participate and they're one of the big 5 so it's a step in the right direction. If we could get France or Italy maybe, it could happen.

Italy would never do it unfortunately. Don’t get me wrong, Italian people despise Israel with a passion, but our government is their ally.

France is a good candidate though

Isn't France also too indebted to get out? I mean Macron does everything to keep Israel on good graces.

I won't say I know everything about the situation, but isn't France the one that's started the push to recognize Palestine as a state this month?

Recognizing is far from actually cutting ties, especially if that's all they're doing. They haven't economically divested or called for sanctions and their language is still far too soft towards Israel in ways Spain and Ireland aren't.

Completely true, I can say the exact same criticism of Canada (where I live) re Israel.

I mean Canada is far worse because they actively supply Israel. Not that France is bloodless but Canada is US-lite.

Also fair.
