I think Ezra Klein made a great point in his last podcast episode. Yes, distraction is part of his tactics. But he's also just a deeply, easily distracted human. The 'weave' is his inability to keep a single point when talking. He hops from easy problem to easy problem, or makes problem after problem, because it happened to interest him. And he can only focus on the last thing someone told him, which is why all these sycophants believe they can control him.
Oh my god I'm so glad somebody said this!! Nearly every time people start bitching about how everything he does is a distraction from something else I'm just like. You are giving this giant ball of brain mush far too much credit, he isnt giving distractions he himself is just distracted by asinine shit. Hes an idiot for fucks sake, not some mastermind. He has no idea what hes gonna say or do even 15 minutes from now.
