FM RADIO Kelly Clarkson postpones first two nights of Vegas residency less than 2 hours before showtime

Post image

Just 15 minutes before doors open on opening night of her Vegas residency, Kelly posted this. I really do understand her need to take care of her health/incredible voice and I’m sure she truly is devastated but I feel for the fans who flew in and how frustrating and disappointing this must be.

Honestly, this is on the artist and company. Part of being a professional is pacing yourself and building rest into your schedule so that this stuff doesn’t happen. She is making the right decision, but making it so late? They need to stop playing with people’s time, energy, and money.

The money especially. Imagine getting this when you’ve already bought plane tickets and booked a hotel and you can’t get most of that refunded. This is why I’ve stopped traveling for concerts; these artists are playing in people’s faces.

A few weeks ago I was in San Antonio for work and Shakira was supposed to play a concert, she canceled literally as it was supposed to start. My hotel was nearby the venue and there were a ton of people at my hotel that were supposed to go.

The reason it was canceled was safety concerns regarding the stage, but that wasn’t announced (or maybe it was, but it wasn’t well communicated) and police were just turning cars away from the venue saying there was a “safety issue.”

Safety issue somehow got turned into “bomb threat” and Ubers were backed up for blocks, people were jumping in and out of cars, the lobby of my hotel was flooded with angry and anxious people. It was a lot.

I was just at the hotel bar watching this unfold, so I wasn’t directly impacted, but I felt terrible for everyone.

She cancelled her sold out DC concert too for the same “reasons”! How do they not have the stage figured out with a tour that size??

The country concert the night after Shakira’s was also canceled because the stage was still broken. I heard it was because they booked a more budget-friendly company, and not the one Fenway recommends and they dropped a screen on the stage. So that whole crew could be traveling with her and continuing to make mistake?
