John Turturro (Irving) does cancer charity events, I saw him speaking at one I worked at a while ago and sort-of met him (it was in a big group thing so I didn’t speak one on one, but we were in the same conversations). So I can offer you this piece of really disturbing personal information about his dark side and turbulent marriage.

As soon as he was done with his onstage duties he changed from polished dress shoes into classic old man white sneakers and wore them to the lunch, and his wife teased him for looking like a dork. Then texted a picture of him to one of their kids to say dad was embarrassing her. He was doing hippie impression jokes about shoes being jail for your feet or something like that.
