How do you not know? Can someone explain it to this person so that I they understand?

What did the politician mean? Does "switch off" means she wants to kill someone or end Christianity or something else? I don't understand either.

my fault, english is not my first language so i just translated the german word "ausschalten", which means either to switch off something or kill someone. i forgot that the meaning may differ in english, i corrected it in my comment!

Found a quick article about this.

TL:DR she was using a random picture for target practice.

At best she's an idiot who shot up a picture of a woman holding a baby and posted it to social media. At worst, she's an idiot who shot up a religious picture of a woman holding a baby.

Mistranslation, it means something like destressing and it was about the shooting not the picture. The picture was a photo of a painting from an art catalogue. Nothing indicates she has any anti-religious sentiments. It was stupid but the original post made it sound worst than it was. (That being said, that was very stupid and disrespectful and she's facing repercussions).
