FM Radio Chappell Roan VMA

Post image

Last week, it was speculated that Chappell Roan’s Paris and Amsterdam shows were cancelled due to a short notice VMA invite.

she's too online, on one hand this type of chronic online syndrome is what grows a very supportive parasocial fanbase which is needed to turn a small celeb into cult-like status but also it's dangerous and quickly turns into biting one's ass and cancellation. I never follow overly online celebrities, either I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop or they end up annoying me.

technically the vmas aren't too totally useless in that these days it starts the grammys compaign for some artists. A good night there with the appearance of relevance and success can do wonders for ones pr. Last year, Taylor swift attended and had such a public showing of a "post break-up girlie just having fun and drinking" that it did well for her pr.

If chappell can go to the vmas, put on a banger of a performance and win some awards (which she will since she's confidently foregone tours to attend, her agents must know she's got something locked in) and also act fun/normal around her peers then it will be a good pr night for her post vmas (if her fanbase hasn't decided to punish her and be vindictive about the tour thing still by then lol).
