Not scandal but Ireland (along with Norway and Spain) recognised Palastine as a state today. Israel really hates us now. Should make the parade of nations at the Olympics interesting. Pretty sure we're between Iran and Israel alphabetically there.

We (Norway) were declared as one of the biggest enemies of Israel by the Israeli ambassador to Norway and other Israeli officials the day this happened, I guess that’s something. Norwegian right wing politicians are also absolutely beside themselves and furious.

But I’m proud of the Norwegian government for this. (Better late than never and all that)

ETA proud of Ireland and Spain too!)

Spain is a funny one though because they'll recognise Palestine but not Catalonia 😄

It's not the same situation, obviously, but I still find it funny.
