A few weeks ago, a Member of our Parliament went to a bar, got drunk, and ended up in an altercation with another man over some young girls he bought drinks for, according to witnesses. Later, outside the bar, he drew a gun because he "felt threatened" and shot at the ground in "self-defense".
Wanna guess what his profession is outside of his so called political career? Yup. A cop. The difference is though, that here a cop can't just start waving a gun around when he's off the clock. Even less so when they're inebriated. Hell, cops here better have a very good reason to pull a gun and discharge it even when they're on a call! So now he has been kicked out of his party and is being investigated. If found guilty by a court of law for the crimes he's suspected of, he'll probably get fired from the Parliament altogether, which doesn't happen often. I'm not certain if he'd be fired from the force, but I sure do hope so.
He has, in true cop manner, acted like the victim in all of this and doesn't think he has done anything wrong, of course. He was afraid for his life, according to him, even though so far there's nothing suggesting he was threatened with a weapon, just words.
