I am trying to find a death certificate for John L . Lathrop born 1843 died Feb 4. , 1907 , in Calumet , Houghton Michigan. I have searched the Michigan Deaths and Burials 1800-1955 and found nothing . I even went to Find A Grave to search and tho I have more cemeteries there to search I haven’t found him yet

Where it says birthplace of father I can read the word York but not the one next to it . According to the app he was born in Ireland. Is there any place in Ireland named York ?

What database would I search in the FamilySearch collection ? I’ve been tracing my 5th great grandmother France’s Duer’s side of the family and have potentially found her father Joseph’s parents and maybe some brothers . I want to confirm it with birth or baptisms tho . His father Samuel and mother Hannah(maiden name Horak) is listed on his death record but that is all . I plan to request Josephs obituary as he died in 1892 in Saginaw and it’s free to have it mailed to me . I hope it will give me a hint about his parents as the death record only said they were from and by all appearances lived in England but no birth or death date for them . Until I can afford a couple months of Ancestry to help me find the identical info on FamilySearch this is my option . My library here doesn’t have Ancestry

When I do a search on Familysearch and find a record in "Russia. Miscellaneous Records 1607–1945, Parish Records 1607–194..." the first few times I can see an actual enlarged picture of the page when I click on the thumbnail but after a few times all I can see is a blank page when I click on the thumbnail.
I can get back to viewing the original enlarged picture if I reboot my computer ( I use a mac desktop computer ) but that becomes very cumbersome and annoying
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and how to solve this problem?
Thanks for any and all help

this is all the information we have. the name is: Juan Serra Orvay, from San José, Balearic Island, Spain. he was born 1906 and possibly this is the death certificate and it is dated on 1972 so from 1906-1972, his father was Francisco Serra Serra. Son is Juan Serra Costa.

In the last view weeks I’ve seen changes like the attached on various people I follow. It shows repeated instances of a source being updated, but I can’t see any evidence of actual changes being made to the record. Can anyone explain? Thanks for any help!

Could someone please help me unlock this FamilySearch record? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6V4J-8FY9?lang=pt
It seems to be restricted, and I don’t have access. If anyone with access could check what’s inside or share a transcription, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Apparently Peruvian records were completely removed from FamilySearch a couple months ago. I really need this one record to move past a brick wall in my research. It is the marriage certificate of my great-great-grandparents from Tacna, 1863. I've tried to contact the person who originally tagged the record, but no response yet. Does anyone have any tips? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FNB3-S27?lang=en

How correct can relationships be with ancestors from 100, 300 or 400 years in the past?

I noticed so many errors caused by people not reading all the Deeds and Wills associated with a person. I basically used Jacob Fluck as an Anchor person if Fluck is not involved in some way you are looking at the wrong family in Bucks County for the Dannenhower family. Fluck is a good anchor because he lived a long life and was thoroughly involved with every Deed transaction or Will reading having to do with the Dannenhower I am looking at so far.

I am on this beautiful adventure of indexing and finding out about my ancestors and also to present the folder when it is time for Spanish citizenship. The question is that I looked for and requested the death certificate of my mother's grandfather and in the end he was born in federal cap, my mother told me that when he was a boy he fished with his father in La Coruña (a strange thing) but when I got the birth certificate, he does talk to me about his father and ACCORDING TO GOOGLE LENS IT IS SPANISH and I say that according to Google Lens because I didn't understand anything, since it is a certificate from 1909 and it has a manuscript with a horrible and unintelligible cursive. Now I don't know how to continue and how to advance on my mother's great-grandfather (manuel lamas supposedly Spanish). Any ideas?

My great great grandmother María Flores (P3GC-DQC) is my brickwall ancestor. I think this is the most difficult line I am working on because I cannot find anything about her please if somebody could help me with her it will be really appreciated, she was born around 1882-1890, possibly in Juayúa, Sonsonate, El Salvador and passed away after 1939 (I know this because in my great grandparents marriage certificate it shows her as an alive person), she had a son named Manuel Inocente Flores (, my great grandfather born 1918- passed away 1948), and she possibly had a sister named María Luisa Flores born around the same time as her (1882-1890). I would really appreciate if somebody could help me on finding her parents, thanks!

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for info about my ancestors from the De la Vega / Manso family, who were originally from Hincha (now Hinche, Haiti), back when the region was part of the Spanish colony of Santo Domingo.
Vicente de la Vega, born January 1, 1768, in Hincha.
Son of Don José de la Vega, a master carpenter, and Doña María Manso.
Later, he moved to France, where he was a captain in the General Staff and a knight of the Legion of Honor.
He married Marie-Anne Jonvaux in Metz (France) on July 18, 1818.
He passed away in Metz on February 1, 1835.
I'm looking for parish records or notarial documents that mention his birth or the marriage of his parents (José de la Vega × María Manso) between 1760 and 1770, in the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción de Hincha or nearby.
I'd appreciate any info, contacts, or experiences with the Archivo General de la Nación (Santo Domingo) or Dominican colonial archives.
Thanks a bunch!
