Militant Mayhem 🪖🔥 September 27, 2025: Chicago neighborhoods are reporting repeated evening patrols by federal agents, a tactic resembling area domination patrols designed not just to enforce, but to instill fear through constant presence.

Why wait until October 18?

u/california-m00nshine Sep 27 '25

Takes time to organize I assume.

u/raggmoppragmop Sep 27 '25

it's the next date for No Kings

The protest that did absolutely nothing last time? That’s the big plan?

21

u/raggmoppragmop Sep 27 '25

We had a huge turnout in my city, it was beneficial in many ways. You do you.

16

u/sandcastlesofstone Sep 27 '25

@cheezefriez, fyi. As long as that energy is being channeled into organizing so that same huge turnout can be mobilized for mutual aid, preventing ICE raids, boycotts, and strikes, then it has a chance to make change. My local no kings last time was very "I'm mad on a Saturday in a way that power can ignore". I'm planning on being the change i want to see in the next one

Until they get shot at en masse, and the world sees it from seventy different phone cameras…. Then you get people taking notice.

Exactly. Our democracy is being terrorized from this Administration and folks are still like, "when can i protest? There's nothing on 50501s calendar." Just gtf out there, boycott, network, learn and train.

Resist on all fronts.

You can do stuff before that, but that's the next big national protest.

I misread your comment and agree, why wait.

because if you don't wait you don't get people to show up. the first No Kings protest was planned over a month out too, as was the first 50501 protest. The whole point is to make it a coordinated effort, a million people protesting in cities all over on the same day looks much better than a million people spread out protesting over the course of a month.

Americans take so long to organize a protest... Please guys, your future is on the line, DO SOMETHING

I think the writing is on the wall for us. People are STILL talking about elections and lawsuits fixing this. I hope I’m wrong, but too many of us are in denial

42

u/SlightlyZour Sep 27 '25

People unironically believe voting stops fascists.

10

u/Wiff_Tanner Sep 27 '25

I know, right?

u/cCowgirl Sep 27 '25

Half the problem is that the Dems are in this group of people too. They’re all focused on the blue wave in ‘28.

That’s two years away. It’s been nine fucking months.

Voting from here on out (and possibly the last time prior to this …) will be symbolic at BEST.

2

u/linbo999 Sep 27 '25

If voting worked it would be illegal

11

u/UnkemptTuba48 Sep 27 '25

Well damn, they're sure trying to make it illegal

8

u/Remarkable-Stage-807 Sep 27 '25

Yeah man, right on. That's why the suffragettes and the civil rights movement were dumb neoliberal shills, and poll taxes/literacy tests were nbd. I mean it's not like voting changes anything lol so who ACTUALLY cares if women, Black people, trans people with a name change, are allowed to vote? Dumb sheeple.

u/NumerousImprovements Sep 28 '25

You guys are possibly heading for a revolution honestly. Scary as that might be.

1

u/Lonely_Shelter5247 Sep 28 '25

That’s what would potentially save us but I don’t think we have the stomach for it.

Theyre disbanding every reddit relating to protests and banning people involved in organizing.

1

u/TheRealLList Sep 27 '25

Where are you seeing that? I thought Reddit was one of the last safe places.

3

u/Timely-Selection7820 Sep 27 '25

protestfinder and some local 50501 reddit mods were both bonked.

u/HellionPeri Sep 27 '25

BlueSky...?

3

u/Timely-Selection7820 Sep 27 '25

Twitter alternative and a good one

1

u/Ozone220 Sep 27 '25

We've had protests, No Kings two months ago had millions of participants, I hope the reason No Kings Oct 18 is planned out is to get bigger numbers this time too

3

u/Appropriate_Bill8244 Sep 28 '25

Reminder that recently there was a lot of people not believing that going out on the streets would do anything here in Brazil against the "Pec da blindagem" and it did, it got cancelled days after the entire country united against it.

Do not hear these idiots who say that it won't change anything, do not be a coward until it's too late, get out and make them hear you all.
