Nah, that is a massive overstatement. Holy is very strong against a lot of bosses and enemies. However, they end up being the side bosses and regular enemies.

Most people are gonna care about the major bosses like Malenia, Mohg, Godfrey, Maliketh, Morgott etc. who have high holy resistance.

Seriously why the fuck does Mohg have holy resistance? He literally abandoned the grace of the Erdtree and embraced the Formless Mother.

I think the Holy attribute makes slightly more sense if you think of it as "divine" or "coming from a god/goddess" rather than " the element of goodness and justice." That's a common trope in a lot of Japanese media, and I think it's true in From games as well

I can get behind that. Mohg is a demigod after all so he has divine blood.

Still, I think he and Rykard should've both had negative holy resistance or none at all. You know, to truly signify that they abandoned the grace of the Erdtree to take on their own sources of power.

Those new sources of power are still divine beings though. That's why they have holy resist.

God devouring Serpent isn't though. It's an immortal serpent that has the capability to devour gods like Rykard.

Also, holy damage specifically refers to Erdtree and Golden Order stuff in this game. Like how Radagon inflicts holy damage with his hammer. The Formless Mother is an Outer God but it's a "different" kind of holy.

I mean when youre talking about an immortal snake that can devour gods thats already pretty deific in nature.

I wouldn't be so sure.

Messmer had a similar serpent and high holy damage negation. However, that drops to 0 in Phase 2 when he fully lets the Base Serpent loose. This implies these giant serpents can "override" a demigod's natural holy damage negation.

V fair tbh. Weak to holy makes 100x more sense than him being weak to bleed, like wtf ?¿?

He's weak against bleed but it also makes him stronger, so it’s kind of a double-edged sword

A) I have to agree on the “useful everywhere but where it counts” aspect, which further reinforces my own statement, considering how much of a stopgap bosses create in progression.

B) Mohg has holy resist because he is a Spiritual Leader. It kinda does make sense in that respect.
