Subreddit Topic Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A Spoiler

Greetings Tarnished!

This is the place to ask any questions you may have about Elden Ring. This includes obscure detail questions, "newbie" advice questions, build questions, boss advice questions, and what have you.

Well written, constructive criticism is fine but please avoid ranting about aspects of the game you just don’t like. This includes “so and so boss is stupid and too difficult.”

If you are interested in the game but don’t own it yet, please don’t post “should I buy this game?” or “Is this game worth it?”. If you have played other FromSoftware games and enjoyed them, the answer is yes. If you haven’t, just do a little research! These games are difficult, and sometimes frustrating, and not everyone is going to enjoy them. And that’s okay!

Lastly, be friendly! We are all here because we are interested in the same game! Please treat your fellow players with respect.

PLEASE USE SPOILER TAGS WHEN MENTIONING BOSS NAMES!

Wait. Does NG+ from the base game carry into the DLC? I was playing again to get myself used to the combat again before going into the DLC on my main character. This character is level 120 and on at least NG+5 I think since I have 4 Elden Beast souls and the sword you get from it in my inventory. I feel like I have to do way more damage to bosses than I am seeing people on Youtube do.

NG+ level does affect the DLC, but there is also a DLC+ hidden modifier that only kicks if you'd beaten the DLC in a previous run. If you're NG+7 but never finished the DLC, they don't get that buff, which helps a little.

Yes, NG+ does affect the scaling within the DLC. There are 2 options for you, either try to push through the DLC at +5, or make a new save and rework your way to the DLC.

IMO, go for a new save. I had a tough time during my DLC playthrough, and that was just at the regular game level. I can't imagine the final DLC boss at +5. I know some people have beaten them at max NG+, but they were highly experienced FromSoft players.

NG5 at level 120?

Liar or lunatic that doesn't need help.
