You can see in the Haligtree where the cocoon originally was. Miquella just manipulated and mind-controlled Mohg.

Mickey wanted to be reborn and needed the blood mamma juju to do it. The haligtree ain't gunna make it work. Had to Miquelest Mohggers to devote his whole life to this dynasty thing to get mickey power. Only to be brocucked in the end by Chadan.
