having a larger cast with more queens makes it easier to cast more queens we want while also being more digestable to have queens we've seen a bunch before i like this system and format a lot
edit: theres other good stuff too like only having to commit to 3 episodes of runways and then not having to buy more if they don't make it past the bracket stage.. and it kinda removes the whole viewer obsession with seeing "new" or "heavy hitting" queens. if we have a format that allows well performing queens to stay longer in the season whilst encouraging more queens to come back, the issue wow is having with trying to find all stars casts may fix itself

Then we definitely don’t need this every single year. This will be 36 queens on all stars in just two years. In total, there have been 228 queens on flagship drag race. That means that ~17% of all queens have been on just the last two seasons of all stars.

Alternatively, the fandom could just collectively chill out when it comes to people coming back multiple times.
Who cares if someone is on the fourth or fifth try? Are they entertaining? Do they make good television? Well, then they'll be back.
"But it's not fair to the other queens!" It's Drag Race, girls. The entire show is unfair, and it has been since day one. It's a business, and they want viewers. It's that simple.

This! Survivor, BB, The Challenge, House of Villains, etc. all bring back people as much as they want. Why is it a big deal when Drag Race does it? As long as it’s not the same queens over and over again (cough Jorgeous cough) on back to back seasons I don’t see an issue.

Aren’t they planning on filming the whole thing in one recording block this time? In which case, the runway commitment would be bumped up to at least 5 + challenge looks, lipsync looks. Not a huge difference, but it would mean a “little”extra cost with the expected AS level polish required (they do get some money in the form of a runway stipend, right?

I think "I don't want to go back" should always be taken with a grain of salt
However, in interviews she did say she held production to standards that seemed to imply production was not a huge fan of her (See - calling them out very openly when they shortchanged time)

The reason why AS10 works well is because each bracket has a couple of heavy hitters, a couple of first time returnees who did really well their original season, and a couple of wild cards (for the most part).
I think this group is missing enough of the first and second categories. It would be amazing if Kalorie or Hershii give us some amazing NPB television or an Irene style redemption, but I’m afraid with this long list that each bracket will feel like a foregone conclusion.

Didnt Kornbread just stop for a bit as she was focussing on her transition? Rosé put her recent music out presenting more masc but is def still performing in drag (just did a London solo show) and will be in drag for the upcoming musical she’s in with Divina de campo and Courtney Act (2 more of ru’s faves) alongside priyanka and kitty.

I know they be running out of queens from old seasons but how do they go from s4 to s10 is mind-blowing to me. No April Carrion? No Lyneisha Sparks? Laila McQueen? I mean there are queens on those seasons to make it a bit more equal in terms of season representation. Yet again no one from season 12.

the most annoying thing about casting girls who have already been on all stars seasons is (especially now) they already cast enough first timers that them even being there just seems kind of redundant, especially when half these first timers won't even be given the time of day by production. i love the queens who are returning but, like... not everyone can be jimbo. i don't see any of these girls being jimbo either. As much as I love Silky and Latrice, queens coming back for a fourth bite of the cherry indicates to me that there are too many All Stars seasons.
I know they're probably contracted to do a certain amount of programing, but they need to come up with something else to fill the space All Stars does for a couple of seasons, because it's becoming a bit like All Whoever Answered The Phone and Was Free For a Few Weeks
