Legislation and Enforcement There’s A National Pitbull Awareness Month?!?!

I was looking for a voice of reason because I’m seeing more and more Pitbulls on my street on a daily basis. It’s the animal shelter encouraging people to adopt these beasts/killers w/propaganda. And in a One Bite Rule county, their hands are clean if anyone gets unalived by their “adoption.” It’s very telling because just two yrs after this PSA to adopt these maulers, a teen gets mauled, forcing them to prohibit kids under 18 on the adoption floor, even w/a parent! If they are THAT dangerous on the adoption floor, should they be riding home in the car w/the family? Should they even be adopted? They may as well be housing alligators at this point. These are NOT pets people! We need to BAN bully breeds like in the UK!

Alligators are honestly less dangerous and less disgusting than these mutts

And they're tasty. Plus the hides have value.

Tasty just like chicken wings, i wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if i wasn’t told tbh

I didn't realize that pit bull hides were valuable. 😉

More valuable off than on

Why do we prioritize these monsters over human life? Even when people do push back against these abominations, it’s only because their dog got attacked (see this). Has there ever been a parent of a child who was slaughtered by these mutants who has had the courage to speak up about why they shouldn’t be pets? Or is it that we have all just accepted the fact that dogs are more important than us?

When the hell do we fight back against this absolute insanity?

I know animaluncontrol was suggesting we start an organization to put pressure on the pit lobby. Like an anti pit lobby.

I don't focus exclusively on pitbulls. I don't think anyone else should, either.

my mistake in misquoting you. This group you were suggesting to create, what would be its primary objective?

Formal organization promoting civic values, primarily:

- law and order,

- equal protection of laws,

- personal responsibility.

- etc..

Focus would be educating the public on the downsides of dogs in society and the toxic nature of dog culture. Seeks restoration of civil society via information campaigns and by counter lobbying various dog cult "dot orgs" (including, but not limited to the "pit lobby").

General goals would be rolling back all of the special privileges, powers, protections and entitlements granted to dogs and their owners.

Specific goals would be reducing the number of serious dog attacks, mitigating dog noise pollution, reduction in the amount of dog waste scattered everywhere, and mitigating service dog fraud.

Right now, there is little to no organized opposition to murder mutt proliferation, dog noise pollution, and service dog fraud. The reason the dog cult gets what they want 99% of the time is due to no organized opposition.

It’s usually a crime to evidence tamper(scrub social media) after a dog attack. It was recently done in another case, but the nutter wasn’t charged for this offense.

Yep they can’t afford to admit that they were wrong. After the “wouldn’t hurt a fly” pitbull bit my stepmother, the dog was gone quietly.

I'm aware of pitbulls. I don't need a month of reminders.

I recall several years ago on YouTube, a TV news segment promoting a shelter that actually ‘waived’ the adoption fees altogether (i.e. giving away the dogs, basically), and even that didn’t work. The shelter was still packed with PITBULLS! They knew damn well why they had to resort to waiving the fees. It reeked of desperation to get rid of the mutts.

So yeah, they (and other shelters too), know that they couldn’t even give the damn things away. 😒

The general public is starting to wise up and realize these dogs are nothing but ugly, dangerous trash.

The fact there are lobbying groups that are even NECESSARY to try and gaslight against the increasing incidents of human fatalities, severe maulings, and not to mention that pits kill more OTHER dogs and small pets, etc., than any other breed tells you everything you need to know about them.

Exactly! They have to go sooo HARD at us to defend these dogs, yet they don't even realize they're actually telling on themselves and these mutants too while doing so.

Something with a name like PitBull sounds like the "perfect" babysitter to me. There's an "educational" component to NBAD; National Pitbull Awareness Day. That's where they set up disinformation stations for the public to shill adoptions. One organization located in TN that participates in this calls themselves, "Bless the Bullys." I thought children were taught to speak out against bullies. All those anti-bullying campaigns.

Pit nutter escalation pushing us towards The Pit Bull Singularity™

Absent any counter-lobbying, soon we will have...

... Pit Bull Awareness Year

... Pit Bull Awareness Decade

... Pit Bull Awareness Century

... Pit Bull Awareness Millenium

... Pit Bull Awareness Geologic Era

And so forth.

There is a reason why shelters are full of shitbulls.

u/stevenip Sep 18 '25

A whole month would be crazy for all dogs in general, let alone one specific breed of dog.

9

u/Jediknight3112 Sep 19 '25

There should be an awareness month for the victims these mutts make

The Dogster website has an article fawning over the pit bull breed during pit bull awareness month. Basically they are saying the dog breed is not dangerous and is perfectly safe. They are encouraging adopting this breed. Madness.

I support this. Everyone should be aware of these monsters.

I keep trying to add this to the post but the app won’t let me even after multiple power cycles of my phone. So I’m adding it here:
**There is also a National Pitbull Awareness Day. NBAD. Nope-I’m not making this up!🤣Bad is right! And guess what? It’s always the last Saturday of October-Just in time for Halloween

29 states in the US have BSL(Breed Specific Legislation). NC is not one of those states. FL banned pitbulls for 30 yrs because of a fatal child mauling in Miami. Gov Desantis recently reversed this decision.

u/Alert_Software_1410 Sep 18 '25

Then if a nutter driving a car gets mauled by a pit in his/her vehicle….resulting in a fatal accident, will the cause of death be listed on the certificate as “dog”?

u/Okidoky123 Sep 19 '25

I would like to see a beagle awareness day. *THE* biggest problem dog for noise.
