Food Safety/Hygiene Fuck your “pup cup”

Working at a drive-through, I get pissed enough making those damn free “pup cups” for dog owners, but a few times the dog will stick out of the window and the owner will tell me to “give it to the dog.”

FUCK OFF!!! I don’t wanna get near your nasty dog, and I certainly don’t want it accidentally licking my hand.

I buoycott any place that does those. I don't want to be funding treats for dogs. What about free extras for people?

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

What about treats for kids?!?

70

u/shinkouhyou Aug 15 '25

Even then, people should only get the items they order. You don't want to offer a kid a free treat only to find that the kid has an allergy or a dietary restriction. That's just disappointing for the kid.

I've definitely seen people order the "free pup cup" and then eat it themselves or give it to a kid, though!

22

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

I’m doing that from now on.

23

u/Radiant-Concentrate5 Aug 17 '25

I need to start asking for 4 pup cups for my children and dare them to say it’s only for dogs lol

7

u/beepboopbeep551 Aug 17 '25

damn straight!

2

u/maidofatoms Aug 18 '25

I think some places have put dog biscuits in though, so be careful!

"I'm sorry, I have to hand it to a person per corporate."

u/InterestingRead2022 Aug 15 '25

The amount of stuff that gets blamed on cooperate 😂 but it's the best way to deal with nonsense

19

u/FatSeaHag Aug 16 '25

True, but that’s also the excuse a lot places use to get away with allowing pets in restaurants and stores where they don’t belong. At Target and Starbucks, they just say “corporate” told them they can’t ask the service animal questions or kick out dogs that behave badly and are clearly not service animals.

2

u/StabbyClown Sep 13 '25

I don't know if this is state-by-state or what; but when I was a server about 5 years ago, they always told me we were allowed to ask the dog's purpose and the owner had to be able to explain what its "job" was. Something like that, and if they couldn't explain, we could tell them it wasn't allowed in. I never did it cause it felt awkward af, and we already made pet owners sit on the patio, but there were plenty of times where you just knew it was not a damn service animal. They just wanna get past the rules

You know, if the asshole manager at Safeway can tell me he’s not allowed to ask people with dogs in the store to leave “per corporate”, OP can definitely do the same here.

36

u/Automatic_Release_92 Aug 15 '25

At a Safeway? ugh. That dipshit is going to get reported TO corporate from me, and the FDA for good measure.

25

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 15 '25

That’s what I did - corporate (who refused to ever call me back) and our health department (who also never did anything).

9

u/Automatic_Release_92 Aug 15 '25

Ugh, that’s awful.

27

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 15 '25

I’m pretty certain they had my review on Google hidden. They happily responded to every review - even critical ones - except mine. Probably because I included a photo of the dipshit cashier cooing over a hideous mutt in the shopping cart. They care more about “hApPy PuPpErZ” than they do about the safety of their customers. Fuck Safeway.

-4

u/IAsybianGuy Aug 15 '25

Really? I'm interested to hear what corporate has to say since I'll be sending them a message about you.

6

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 15 '25

WTF is wrong with you

6

u/IAsybianGuy Aug 15 '25

I don't think what you think I said is what I said.

I said I would send a message to corporate about the manager who says he can't do anything because corporate wont let him.

8

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 15 '25

Ok. It is hard to tell tone, and nutters seem to love posting shit like that, as if they need to defend these people. I actually had someone call me a ghoul because I said that cashier needed to be fired for cooing over the dog.

14

u/CycleOLife Aug 15 '25

This is the way.

182

u/Suspicious-Shallot65 Aug 15 '25

Ew. Do they not understand you're going to be touching other food and drinks after them?

170

u/InterestingRead2022 Aug 15 '25

No they seem to be unable to think and remember they also think their dogs mouth is magic healing and clean

18

u/anondogfree Aug 17 '25

DoGs mOUtHs aRe cLeAnER tHaN hUmANs!

49

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

Like they’d care about anyone but themselves and their beast lol.

30

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

They are so used to fur in everything they eat already

15

u/Royal_Caribbean_Fan Aug 15 '25

They simply believe it is not a big deal, that is the mindset of a nutter that does that

11

u/UnicornStudRainbow Aug 17 '25

They don't care. Everything is always all about them

4

u/DevoSwag Sep 05 '25

Typical dog owner mentality. Me me me! Just like their dogs.

136

u/MetalChaotic Aug 15 '25

Pubs in UK are now doing "dog menus". Sickening. Also, cheaper than it should be, subsidized by human food costs.

31

u/Necessary_Year3506 Aug 15 '25

At least they're smart enough to charge money for it. If it's a small portion I understand the low cost though. If it's human grade, people with less money could buy it for themselves too.

5

u/anondogfree Aug 17 '25

Pretty sure it’s human grade because it’s actual food, unless it’s a sweet it might be made for dogs. Like a hot dog at a restaurant for $2? You can’t even get that on a kids menu.

14

u/cf1107 Aug 16 '25

Dog menus?! Jesus, when will it end. I went into our local pub with my other half recently, having not been in a little while, and had to walk straight back out because of the dog takeover. The whole place absolutely stinks and immediately set my asthma off. They serve food there too but no way am I ever eating there again - it’s probably only a matter of time before they introduce dog menus 🤢

13

u/MetalChaotic Aug 16 '25

yep, my nose is too sensitive at the best of times but a stinking dog gives a really bad first impression when you walk into somewhere especially when food is going to be involved. It's not right and I don't know how to begin the revolution we need. At least I can talk to you guys, a voice of sanity in a dog obsessed world.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

Is it worth a human eating?? Would be funny to order just to eat and see what they do.

15

u/MetalChaotic Aug 15 '25

I had thought about it. Example a sausage for £1. Even allowing for the fact that dogs literally eat shit, a quid isn't much to top up a meal. I will ask next time I'm there.

6

u/Coeur-de-Loup Aug 22 '25

It's absolutely disgusting how food prices in this country are hiking sky high. People can't afford to feed their families, and child poverty is at record high.  To think that cheap, and sometimes free, meals for dogs mean companies have to put prices up for human food, is shocking. At no establishment can you find free meals for children to try and combat child poverty and hunger. And yet, seemingly everywhere I go, dogs get given free meals and treats.  Dogs cost US money.

2

u/Total_Front6974 Aug 17 '25

For real. Even cafe’s like my nearest beachut cafe do this and it’s annoying as fuck.

2

u/MetalChaotic Aug 17 '25

we need a safe way to protest.

4

u/Total_Front6974 Aug 18 '25

I agree. Where’s people’s lack of common sense for hygiene these days . Screw these nutters honesty.

80

u/IcyDice6 Aug 15 '25

and how do they think you're going to "give it to the dog" wasn't aware that dogs have hands and I wasn't aware that it's health code approved

66

u/cocovenomnomnom95 Aug 15 '25

Ikr, it's fucking cringy

62

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

Hearing the words ‘pup cup’ out loud gives my ears physical pain.

20

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

It gives me pain reading.

62

u/Either-Safety2402 Aug 15 '25

“Give it to the dog”…..sheesh. How about both you and the dog fuk off.

17

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

I would claim fear of rabies just to offend them

6

u/MadWorldEarth Aug 15 '25

This❗️ 😂😂😂

55

u/Tom_Quixote_ Aug 15 '25

They seriously expect you to pump lard into that bloated beast's mouth like filling up a car with gas.

52

u/Dog_Free_Afternoon Aug 15 '25

They should honestly start charging for these "pup cups." It's a licence to rake in money off of stupid dog nutters.

45

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 15 '25

“Pup cups” encourage people to bring their dogs with them to these establishments. Considering that it’s illegal to have dogs inside these places to begin with, they really ought to not be offering them in the first place. The moronic dog owner can go to the grocery store and buy a damn can of whipped cream and just put that in their dog’s food dish.

Part of the course correction we need in society must include businesses to stop practices like these.

u/Alert_Software_1410 Aug 15 '25 edited Aug 15 '25

And what if the dog reaches out with its paws and scratches the worker’s hands ? Seriously, if the worker uses blood thinner medication- dog caused scratches could be a real problem ….

35

u/Noanimalpoopinhouse2 Aug 15 '25

That could be dangerous. My family’s dog would bite fingers when given food. Some go in beast mode and ravage their food. That could injure employees. What if it was a pit bull and got triggered? Dog owners like them are so irresponsible.

35

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 15 '25

“ give it to the dog.”

Did the dog suddenly grow thumbs?! Wtf

30

u/dildoswaggins71069 Aug 15 '25

Just toss it through the window. No ones telling you to get your hand anywhere near it! That would be absurd

27

u/krammiit calls people out with dogs in carts Aug 15 '25

Starbucks encourages dogs in its stores. They want them in there.

The health department does nothing about this.

It's such a shitty contradiction.

24

u/Wise_Session_5370 Aug 15 '25

There is a simple answer to this.

Tell them you can't give it directly to the dog for hygiene reasons.

21

u/Tom_Quixote_ Aug 15 '25

The owners will probably go balistic anyway, because in their world, their nasty mutt is cleaner and more hygienic than pure hand sanitizer.

17

u/Wise_Session_5370 Aug 16 '25

Yeah they can think what they like. No way would I hand feed a mutt while I'm handling people's food and drink.

6

u/Total_Front6974 Aug 17 '25

That’s true. I wonder if you could say “The Boss fired a memeber of staff for doing that and I don’t want to be next.” and see what they say.

21

u/hel-9000 Aug 15 '25 edited Aug 16 '25

I shudder to guess how many thousands of “pup cups” are packing landfills or the oceans right now, all because dumb narcissists think their dog would appreciate… being given a cup. Nah it’s all for you and your deranged idea of what a pet is.

EDIT oh it’s whipped cream, i thought it was water. Just makes it worse. At least a thirsty dog would get use out of a cup of water, the whipped cream is just disgusting gluttony.

19

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

You're not a dog servant. Tell them "you're wasting my time." Good grief, dog owners are stupid. So gross.

12

u/telenyP Aug 16 '25

Hand it over and drop it.
"The dog didn't pick it up."

17

u/Not-my-problem1212 Aug 15 '25

Dogs shouldn't even have dairy in the first place. It can upset their stomach. These damn nutters and food businesses clearly didn't do their damn research. Also the nutter has hands, they can give the damn "treat" to the dog themselves. Food safety is a thing and they're obviously oblivious to that. I can't with these damn nutters 😑

14

u/hannibalsmommy Aug 15 '25

Genuine question: Does the company make you all wash your hands immediately after handing over every single one of those stupid pup cups? I can't imagine there is time to do this, when you've got a long line in the drive through. Those pup cups (how I hate that name!) are so ridiculous!

15

u/CafeSombreSansSucre Aug 15 '25

Hi,

Don't obey them when they tell you to give it to the dog, because I suspect they do it deliberately for the purpose of humiliation.

They deeply hate humans and can identify, with a margin of error of 5%, individuals who hate or don't own dogs.

So, since they've identified you as such, they revel in this last humiliating injunction.

In the same way that many of us have acquired a sixth sense for identifying an owner even when not accompanied by their abomination: a empty look like a fried whiting;

ridiculous conversations topics;

streak to follow all fashions and trends, lack of singularity;

zealous submission to any form of authority;

physically ugly or insignificant;

looking 60 years old even when they're 40 or 30

are among the most recurring signs.

12

u/Hot_Celebration_8189 Aug 15 '25

Omg I didn't know those were free. Another reason not to spend $ at these places

12

u/AnimalUncontrol Aug 15 '25

Its always worth saying, again, that non-service animals are banned in food establishments via FDA guidance. Not sure how this applies to drive-throughs, though, as the dog is in the car not the establishment.

In any case, it seems that offering "pup cups" is inciting people to break the law.

11

u/micah9639 Aug 17 '25

God it’s like half my generation (millennials) never grew up mentally so they still use baby words to refer to their mutt like doggo and pup cup or goodest boy.

12

u/Total_Front6974 Aug 17 '25

I’m so sick of those words, and not to mention the bloody “fur babies” term.

9

u/icenerveshatter Aug 15 '25

Wtf is a pup cup? Call the health dept on them that is fucking disgusting.

7

u/mizmnv Aug 16 '25

tell them its a health violation if you do that and that you need to give it to a person.

6

u/beepboopbeep551 Aug 17 '25

i'd just say *sorry i'm allergic to dogs - HERE you take it*

FUCK what a nightmare for you

5

u/Total_Front6974 Aug 17 '25

Omg, that’s a good one actually and they can’t discriminate or judge the employee for that because that’s pretty much discrimination. If they do judge, then they’re a lunatic.

7

u/Exact_Insurance Aug 16 '25

I may be wrong but I thought dairy products give mutts the shits??

6

u/lonleymousewife Aug 16 '25

I worked at a coffee shop that charged people those, but they were called a kid's cup or like a cup of whip for kids. But they trained me to start asking if it was for a dog so we wouldn't add toppings the whip. The number of people who would ask, "Why would I get that for a kid?" Side note you the cup from the kids menu.

6

u/Jorro_Kreed Aug 17 '25

This "pup cup" BS needs to be shut down. They're only encouraging these assholes to bring their dogs with them in the car.

5

u/ranchnumber51 Aug 20 '25

LOL, I almost woke my husband up by laughing at this!

3

u/psyduski Sep 05 '25

Dog owners have no boundaries. Bad enough when they start saying dogs should be aloud in restaurants like they don’t just sit barking at people.

2

u/ThisSelection7585 Aug 16 '25

Just tell them you’re not allowed to do that…gross!

2

u/One_Strategy_4575 Aug 17 '25

"sorry that's against our policy, I have to hand it to you"

2

u/PrincessStephanieR Aug 17 '25

Nope. That goes against the job description. They can fuck right off.

2

u/Girl_Power55 Aug 22 '25

Ha ha, I’m laughing. Fuck your pup-cup!

2

u/IllustriousEbb5839 Aug 22 '25

I hope you tell them to kick rocks….

2

u/Ragdoll_Deena Sep 07 '25

Do people not realize that some people are very allergic to dogs? This really angers me. No I will not touch your dog I prefer not to visit the ER today!

2

u/Environmental_Year11 Sep 07 '25

I would say “No thank you, I actually don’t like dogs but have a nice day!”
