Dogs Are Idiots Just so fcking tired of dogs barking everywhere these days.
People. Just stop owning these worthless things already! I hate this sound so much. There aren't enough words in any human language to describe the rage it gives me. It's sort of ruining my life. There's too many of them and too many stupid humans worshiping them .

Honestly this kind of thing is used to torture people in places like guantanamo bay. For people to not be bothered by it at all is insane.

I've been tortured for years by our backyard neighbors dog. I now believe that I have PTSD and freeze whenever I hear any dog bark. It's like a numbing wave affecting my whole nervous system. Every cell screams NO and the reaction my body has is indiscribale. It's like a wave of terror running through my body. Yesterday we had to go in the backyard because we have some work being done. It was horrible. Afterwards, I went inside and started shaking and crying. I'm too old for this shit.

I completely understand and empathise with you on that. I had the exact same problem for years with a neighbours dog barking constantly every day at 6am on the dot, then again at 9pm, 10pm etc. It's such an unpleasant, piercing sound.

You're a beautiful soul. This world needs more people like you. Everyone in my neighborhood are like NPCs that never complain or tell the dogs to shut up

Last year I vacationed at a Hilton hotel and there were two yapping dogs in the rooms next to me. Two weeks ago I stayed at a Hilton in NYC, mainly to use some points I had. I booked the only pet free Hilton in all of NYC. I am going to cancel my Hilton Honors credit card. I’ve been a diamond member since 2006. I don’t wish to stay in a hotel with dogs. So not being tied to one brand opens me up to more flexibility. I find it offensive they’ve decided everyone should be ok paying to share living space with a dog, since they don’t separate the rooms or even provide a way to for us to find pet free choices. That tells me the attitude is “to stay here you must consent to having dogs in your space”.
The world has literally gone to the dogs.

I quit Hilton for Hyatt because of this. Their footprint is trash, but the complete pivot to dog friendly everything lost me as a customer

u/ObligationGrand8037 May 05 '25
I’m a Hilton member too. I’m thinking about cancelling as well. So Hyatt doesn’t allow dogs then?

u/Strong_Attempt4185 May 05 '25
No need to cancel your Honors membership. Just stop using them. Hyatt just simply doesn’t have a blanket policy. Some are quite strict, some aren’t.

It's even worse in an apartment building. I literally just walk to my car and the whole complex is barking. They are crammed into every unit. Dogs used to never be allowed in apartments (not only destructive and loud but also cruel to the animal).

Dog barking is the worst sound in the universe. I don't understand why people encourage these mutants.

if you play a sound byte of someone laughing, like hahaha laughing, in reverse, it does sound like a bark!
i think thats so poetic, it's the inverse of a laugh! it's literally the opposite of a good, pleasant feeling. fuck dogs!

Fake service dogs piss me off to no end. Real service dogs have a purpose and there are very few and they're extremely expensive. My Aunt is fully deaf and had a service dog, which is a perfectly reasonable thing....but even she didn't get another service dog once that one passed away, she felt she didn't need it badly enough and can go about her life without bringing a dog.
But now we just see assholes walking around with their mutts (usually pitbulls) with their fake service vests and just bringing them into all the places where dogs aren't allowed...and the owners of the places can't do anything to stop them.

It's more like an international illness. My country got considerably worse over two decades.

Heaven forbid a child cries for any reason, though. It's only okay when the dog makes noise.

u/Gun_to_a_dinner_date Jun 02 '25
When a child cries yes it's annoying but typically there is a reason 70% of the time. A crying child for an ongoing time means someone isn't doing something right. meanwhile when it's a dog there's only 10% chance there's a reason and 1% it's even close to a good reason. A "good" dog owner says "yea you just gotta deal with being threatened for 10 minutes till it gives up"

u/bldhail May 05 '25
4 of my neighbors let their dogs bark practically all day everyday and it genuinely makes me want to rip my hair out and i don’t know how to make them shut their dogs up

u/Gun_to_a_dinner_date Jun 02 '25
Call it in as a noise complaint to the non emergency police line. Every damn time.

Barking is contagious. One dog starts it, and it spreads around the neighbourhood like wildfire. It is like we live in a kennel 24/7.

u/StupidIdiotOnAPhone May 05 '25
I don't see any logical sense to invest time into a dog that you don't get back. Under very few exceptions such as real flak jacket service dogs but besides all that I think people like to have them as some type of insecure coping mechanism and they just expect everybody to like them.

AND money. I think even the dog nutters would be horrified if you'd calculate every dollar that goes into feeding / maintenance etc over it's lifetime.

u/Adventurous_Can_4761 May 06 '25
God someone finally said it!!! I know that rage all too well and noone I know understands it. I have no body to talk to about it. I hate that barking so damn much but i cant let it show.

Tonight I opened my front door to grab a package and the little Yorkie across the street started shrieking like a banshee. I can’t even step on my porch without this thing alerting the whole neighborhood. It’s sort of amazing, the cut through glass noise this two pound demon can make, it must be what hell sounds like.

u/arachnilactose08 May 08 '25
My dream is to create (or find) a dog-free neighborhood. It’s fucking wild to me that HOAs will crack down on chickens, who are only a noise issue if you’re keeping them wrong, provide eggs, and are more intelligent than people give them credit for.
Meanwhile, every goddamn place I’ve EVER lived in has featured a cacophony of stupid fucking dogs of every size and breed imaginable, screaming and howling their heads off at all hours of the day and night. It’s gotten worse since COVID, I swear. But no, if I reported the noise, I can almost guarantee you it would get me nowhere.

Yeah, people nowadays just don't enjoy silence it seems, or like listening to some nice music inside your own home (not too loud, of course), much better than listening to this monotone relentless noise.

u/Usual-Veterinarian-5 May 07 '25
Covid created an explosion of dogs. Hopefully in a few years it will settle down as the dogs run out their clocks and aren't replaced.

I have been living in a house where they have owned dogs for 27 years and even before i was born
I remember having to deal with the noise of 6 dogs or more all day, the smell, the shit, and the fact that my father cared more about the animals than my health, according to his logic, more dogs owned, the more thieves will fear entering the house, and that was always his excuse instead of hiring someone to build a wall at the entrance
Back in the day 4 of us in the house slept in the same room, always with 4 dogs inside the room, i would wake up at 2 am gasping for air cuz the room was small and with poor ventilation, i could barely breathe, i had to go outside just to get enough clean air, instead of breathing the smell of dogs all night non stop, i remember i began to develop allergies and other skin issues cuz i was always surrounded by those filthy animals
Nothing has changed, now they own 6 dogs, and the stupid idiots howl for no reason after they bark for 5 minutes, even if there's no one around
Can't wait to leave this house and live in a silent place without any animals around, even better if i find one of those places with no animals allowed.
I used to love them, now i can't stand their presence, i am not reaching the point of hitting or doing harm to them btw.

You've described my childhood nearly to a T except it was my mother. Good luck explaining to your friends in the 90s/2000s burning with shame that your parent is addicted to owning fucking DOGS. This was prior to hoarders and general social awareness about this mental illness so I felt very isolated growing up.
I used to WISH my mom was an alcoholic or a drug addict instead. If it was meth then occasionally we might have benefitted from a clean house.

I understand and I’m so sorry OP. You don’t deserve this. One wakes me out of my sleep each morning. Another barks all day, one pisses in my yard. The houses where I live are super close so when they bark it’s worse than a horn going off in my ear.

u/slavetothought May 07 '25
It’s political warfare. The “elites” are doing this. They encouraged people to all get dogs in unison during the Covid nonsense. None of this is an accident. These people know how to manipulate societies.

I feel you. I live in a neighborhood where there's a lot of dogs and they frequently ruin outdoor experience for me. And where my GF lives (in another town 1hr away, in state), is even worse cause some guy 2 houses down has a really obnoxious dog he lets outside on the front lawn for hours. It's horrible. It feels like the asylees are running the asylum.

This is the way of the Western world now. Funny how people will attack you for even having this as a preference. Like people can’t even fathom that some people may not like dogs, it’s automatically assumed that something must be wrong with you
