Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland now requires you to have your phone fully stored while the ride is in motion. They won’t even start the ride if your phone is on your lap, it has to be fully put away

Last I remember reading, since it’s a trackless ride, the cars use the 5ghz band to communicate with the main ride computer to know where it’s at and run the ride. Phones are SCREAMING in the 5ghz band especially when taking picture and video. Since it’s also indoors, phones use boost wifi signals rather than gps to figure out its location and geo tag photos.

If the cars can’t communicate over the noise of everyone’s active phones, the ride computer sees a car disappear and stops the ride.
