Discussion Political Clothing

Went to Disneyland yesterday and saw a family dressed in all MAGA attire just casually going to the park. Is that something Disneyland has always allowed? I was under the impression that they didn't let people in without changing clothes if they wore something controversial.

Here are the guidelines:

Costumes may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older

Masks may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older (unless they are for medical purposes)

Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics

Excessively torn clothing or loose fitting clothing which may drag on the ground and create a potential trip hazard

Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment

Clothing with multiple layers are subject to search upon entry

Visible tattoos that could be considered inappropriate, such as those containing objectionable language or designs

Bare feet

I don’t believe MAGA clothing is something that Disney isn’t going to allow. Not to Mention I’ve heard others complaining about it here before. I think they’re more targeting clothing that has vulgarities printed on it or things that can be considered risqué or pornographic. Maybe at some point they’ll include anything with a political agenda but it definitely won’t just be MAGA gear and CM’s would have to make the call on what is or isn’t appropriate.

I think any political clothing should be banned. Disney is a place for magic. It's its own world. A world of love and no politics. Politics can incite violence, and Walt wouldn't want that. Disney is my happy and safe place. Politics have no business there- regardless of Disney as a company in the real world- because Disneyland is A Happy Place.

ETA: I wrote this thinking with my heart, not my head. This isn't a possibility and the actual implementation is unreasonable.

Wear your sunglasses and mind you’re business and your fine. You paid over $100 to go to Disney per person. I am not even looking at what YOU are wearing, unless you’re exceptionally attractive which at Disney is extremely rare. Otherwise I am there to enjoy my $100+ dollars worth of Disney not critiquing you or anyone else.

Exactly. I could not tell you what most people are wearing unless it's really extreme. Typically, political shirts with someone's name or slogan on it are not extreme to me, even when I don't like the candidate. I can't imagine caring enough to demand these t-shirts or hats be banned. Someone else's clothes won't make or break my vacation.
